You can write a hundred songs on mothers and still not feel satisfied: Dhananjaya
Actor-producer Dhananjaya turned lyricist once again for a special Mother’s Day track, Neene Beku Amma. The emotional song, composed by Navaneeth Sham and sung by Sanjith Hegde, holds deep personal meaning for the actor, especially as he steps into a new phase of life: fatherhood.Talking about the song, Dhananjaya says he had almost stopped writing lyrics after Tagaru Palya, for which he penned all the songs. “I used to say the writer in me was dead. I was very busy and didn’t think I would write again. But the team wanted a song celebrating mothers for Mother’s Day,” he shares. He admits the process became a personal challenge. “There was already a poem about my mother that I had narrated earlier, and people connected with it. This time, I wanted to create something fresh and emotional again. I think you can write a hundred songs about mothers and still not feel satisfied,” he says.Apart from writing the lyrics, Dhananjaya also recorded a special narration for the song video released on Mother’s Day. “When we narrate emotions ourselves, it feels different. I wanted to express my feelings personally,” he explains, adding that Sanjith Hegde “gave life” to the song with his voice.
The actor says the track became even more meaningful after witnessing his wife’s pregnancy and delivery journey up close. “That entire process made me realise why mothers are truly extraordinary. Seeing my wife go through everything gave me a completely new understanding of motherhood,” he says. Speaking about embracing parenthood, Dhananjaya calls it “an entirely new phase” in life. “With every child, a father is also born. It can be stressful at times, but it is a beautiful feeling,” he says.
