Vijay Kumar scouts for love stories on Namma Metro

Looks like actor-filmmaker Vijay Kumar is mixing work with a little people-watching. The City Lights director — whose upcoming film stars daughter Monisha Vijay and Vinay Rajkumar — was recently seen riding the Bengaluru Metro from South Bengaluru to Ulsoor. His mission? To catch the subtle sparks of modern romance in motion. “The Bengaluru metro sees many love stories unravelling every day, which is why I’ve included episodes of life on the Bengaluru Metro in my next directorial,” Vijay shared, explaining why he’s woven them into his next script. “During my ride, I saw many youngsters around me. I was happy I had included this segment in my script — it felt authentic.” But the filmmaker also had a gentle request: Keep the romance respectful. “The beauty of love lies in simple gestures — holding hands, a quiet look, a warm smile. Let’s not make fellow commuters, especially senior citizens, uncomfortable,” he said.
