Tiger Shroff’s ‘Baaghi 4’ crashes to Rs 4.25 Crore on Monday, lowest in the series

Tiger Shroff's 'Baaghi' franchise, known for its action, faces a decline with its fourth installment. 'Baaghi 4' recorded the lowest opening weekend and steepest Monday drop in collections compared to its predecessors. Critics point to a weak script, repetitive action, and an 'A' rating as reasons for its poor performance, alienating Tiger's younger fan base.
Tiger Shroff’s ‘Baaghi 4’ crashes to Rs 4.25 Crore on Monday, lowest in the series
Heropanti may have been the debut film of Tiger Shroff but it was with his Baaghi series that he established his authority as an action star. The Baaghi franchise has till now come up with four installments and the latest one seems to be getting the least amount of love from the audience since the start of the franchise in 2016.The franchise began with Shraddha Kapoor and Tiger Shroff, directed by Sabbir Khan- a modern re-telling of Ramayan. The film earned Rs 38.5 crore over the first weekend and Monday collection dropped to Rs 6.8 crore. Baaghi 2 saw Tiger with his then love interest Disha Pataani and directed by Ahmed Khan. THe film minted Rs 73.10 crore over the weekend with Monday collection dropping to Rs 12.10 crore. The third installment saw Shraddha return to the fold and Ahmed once again putting on the director’s cap , the film earned Rs 53.83 crore over the weekend with Monday collection dropping to Rs 9.06 crore.

Now coming to Baaghi 4 the film earned Rs 31.25 crore over the weekend, the lowest of the series and on Monday the collection dropped to just Rs 4.25 crore, once again lowest of the series. It is also the steepest Monday drop for the series. While Baaghi had dropped from Rs 15.45 crore Sunday to Rs 6.8 crore Monday (55.95% drop), Baaghi 2 from Rs 27.6 crore to Rs 12.1 crore (56.16% drop), and Baaghi 3 from Rs 20.3 crore to Rs 9.06 crore (55.32% drop), it was Baaghi 4 that witnessed the steepest decline, crashing from Rs 10 crore on Sunday to just Rs 4.25 crore on Monday (57.5% drop).
Trade points out that lack of coherence in the script and no newness in action has been two major factors in the film not connecting with the audience besides getting ‘A’ certificate which alienated the kids who are Tiger’s loyal fan base. Baaghi 4 starred Sanjay Dutt, Harnaaz Sandhu and Sonam Bajwa in the lead with Shreyas Talpade playing a pivotal role.
