Shubha Punja shapes up to play prostitute

Sandalwood movie Moggina Manasu actress Shubha Punja seems to be signing on some very diverse roles in her upcoming projects. The actress, who was last seen opposite Vijay Raghavendra in the Kannada film Golmaal, will soon be donning the role of a prostitute in the upcoming film Artha, directed by debutant director Rajesh.
While Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor played prostitute in Chameli, Tollywood actress Anushka Shetty in Vedam and Kollywood actress Shwetha Menon in Aravaan have received critical acclaim for their performances, Sandalwood seems to be warming up to the idea only now.
Sandalwood heroine Ramya, who has also recently signed on a similar role in Neer Dose, Shubha has quite a challenging role. The actress, who recently shot an action scene for the woman-oriented film Meenakshi, also starring Raghu Mukherjee, hopes to make a mark with her diverse roles.
Shuhba is even making conscious efforts to shed a few kilos for the role, it seems. The actress is said to be practicing yoga every morning without fail and living mostly on vegetables and fruits. She has even switched to red rice from white in order to get in shapre for the role.
The actress's efforts sure are yielding better than expected results because she is now receiving bigger and better offers to sign, we hear.
