Shiva Rajkumar backs Sapthami Gowda over inappropriate filming angles; Says, 'Actors not objects'

Veteran Kannada actor Shiva Rajkumar has now publicly supported Sapthami Gowda’s concern. He urged photographers and members of the media to show greater responsibility while filming female artists.

Taking to his Twitter, the 'Jailer' star wrote, "#ActorsNotObjects.“It is unfortunate that even today we must remind people to respect women. Please act with conscience and ensure that the dignity of women is never compromised.”

The Tweet was filled with reactions. One wrote, "Respect women not just in words, but in actions. Stop sexualizing actresses in films. Ban item songs, vulgar scenes, unnecessary lip-lock scenes, and abusive language used for cheap entertainment." Another one wrote, "Women deserve dignity, not objectification." Another fan wrote, "Film makers are the first ones who are considering #Actors as object."

Following the discussion, actors Rukmini Vasanth and Ashika Ranganath also addressed the issue on social media. The two actresses shared a joint statement highlighting concerns about how female artists are filmed at events.
