Mayura Raghavendra wore a t-shirt that sported an image of the late actor Shankar Nag during his visit to a match at the FIFA World Cup
Kannada film director Mayura Raghavendra was on a footie high. In Qatar to attend the FIFA World Cup, he also had a unique companion, albeit in spirit – the late actor Shankar Nag! The director, donned a T-shirt with a photo of Shankar Nag.
“Qatar’s Kannadiga population is 10,000. I thought this would be an incredible opportunity to introduce Shankar Nag to the world. A security guard stopped, and asked me about my T-shirt. I told him about Shankar Nag, and after googling Nag, he let me in! Many Kannadigas were curious too. I told them that Shankar Nag is making a ‘comeback’ in my film, thanks to technology. I am a huge fan of Nag and his vision. Earlier, Nag’s wife, Arundhati, had revealed that in the 80s, Nag had visited London to study the Metro, on his own account, to implement them in Bengaluru. What a visionary he was,” he concludes.
