Kannada audiences have developed quite a palate for reality shows after Bigg Boss, which was hosted by Sandalwood star Sudeep. So much so, that people were talking about the show even after it ended in July. Indian, a new reality show that began this week, is slowly starting to fill that gap. Reality TV star and actor Akul Balaji has aptly been chosen to host Indian.
The show opened in Leh-Ladakh, where its 14 participants were introduced. The contestants — Roopashri (Bangalore), Divya (Bangalore), Tsunami Kitty, Bhuvan (Kodagu), Spoorthi (Bangalore), Sushma Raj (Udupi), Vinod (Bangalore), Nirosha (Bangalore), Pankaj Upadhyaya (Bangalore), Pradeep (Shimoga), Gamya Biddappa (Kodagu), Soumya Mandakki (Hubli), Mahesh (Bangalore) and Mithun Seth (Udupi) — are from different backgrounds and their varied takes on life is what promises to make this show interesting.
Indian, in which the contestants embark on an ‘impossible journey through incredible India’, explores the various facets of lifestyle, culture, tradition, dialect and food from different parts of the country.
