Policemen attack Malavika Avinash at protest march
Actress-turned-politician Malavika Avinash has been speaking out about the several reported incidents of rape and molestation in Bengaluru and the state. She was part of a candlelight march held last evening (November 6) for the Thirthahalli rape of a teenager, and at another protest held the day earlier, she lashed out at the state government for using for on them, instead of rapists.

Her post read, “BJP’s Mahila Morcha took a protest march of 5000karyakatas from Jaganath Bhavan to the CM's residence. Strangely the Police & the Home dept which has been sleeping over the series of rapes showed all their might against “us” who were marching peacefully, pushed us with their lathis, usually the police are behind the barricades-today, they were in front of them???...in the process our MP Shobha Karandlaje were badly hurt, her saree torn, my dupatta ripped off, shoes lost & were trampled by boot legged women-arrested! Hope the home dept proves its might in bringing the rapists to book with the same vigour!”
