Two of the most awaited films this summer are Sudeep's directorial Maanikya and Yash's film Gajakesari. Sudeep's film was supposed to release on March 29, in time for Ugadi, but the release has since been deferred to April 25. In fact, there are also reports that Gajakesari will release on the same day, which will mean that Kannada film-going audience will be divided between which movie to watch next weekend. In fact, a fan even posted on Sudeep's Twitter timeline and said, "I think manikya and yash's gajakesari will clash each other,so it will acts as a negetative fact to manikya film." Sudeep then responded, "we surely ain't clashing n if u think it's gonna be negative to us then I guess they deserve th best. cheers."
Maanikya is a remake of the Telugu hit
Mirchi. Yash had a stellar 2013, with all of his films --
Chandra,
Googly and
Raja Huli -- all doing well at the box office.
