National Film Awards to Dollu in audiography sparks controversy

Kannada film Dollu getting award in audiography at 68th national film awards has surprised the makers of the film which also won the award in the Kannada film category has stoked a controversy.
Soon Jobin Jayan was adjudged the winner for location and sound recordist(for syn sound films only) for Dollu on Friday evening, sound Engineer of the film Nithin Lukosre on his twitter page posted, “I don’t know what happened behind the curtains of the national award selections and its procedures.But I pity the judgment of the jury who couldn’t differentiate between a dub and a sync sound film.” The tweet was shared by Oscar award-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty.
The team of Dollu is thrilled to win the award. Director of the film Sagar Puranik on his Facebook page wrote, “It is a surreal feeling and we are more than elated to let you all know that Dollu has won the National Award for the best Regional film at the 68th National Film Awards! The best producers, the best technicians, best cast, crew, and the best direction team has made this epic successful journey of our film Dollu. I'm grateful to everyone who stood by us and wished us well!”
Another Kannada film Taledanda got an award in environment conservation category.
