Nanditha (who debuted as Shweta in the Kannada hit 'Nanda Loves Nanditha') has bagged a role that many in Kollywood were vying for. The actor is part of Dhanush's second home production, Ethir Neechal, in which she will share screen space alongside Siva Karthikeyan and Priya Anand. 'This is a role that is different from the typical heroine roles. I play the coach to the hero, who is an athlete.
The role isn't glamorous and I play a small-town girl who is very serious about sport,' says Nanditha.
The actor has been having what can be called a dream run in Kollywood. Earlier this year, she debuted in the surprise box office success Attakatthi, which was released by Suriya's production house. 'After Attakatthi, I've been receiving roles that can be categorized as 'homely'. But they aren't typical heroine roles and I've been carefully picking the ones that stand out,' says Nanditha.
The actor is also set to play the lead in another Tamil film,
Nalayaum Nandiniyum. 'This is a heroine-oriented subject and I play Nandini. The film is directed by an associate of filmmaker Venkat Prabhu and has a script that fascinated me instantly,' says Nanditha.
