Malgudi has three different meanings: Kishor Moodbidri

Tulu film director Kishor Moodbidri is all set to make his Kannada directorial debut with Malgudi Days, which releases today. Speaking about the Vijay Raghavendra-starrer that’s being backed by Swayam Prabha Entertainment & Productions, Kishor says, “Audiences are privy to all kinds of content from different platforms and unconventional stories always stand out.That’s why we worked on an off-beat script that’s far from the conventional formulaic cinema."
With the film titled Malgudi Days, one wonders if there is any similarity with the work of the same name by RK Narayan and adapted for the screen, notably, by Shankar Nag. “The similarity ends with the name. The protagonist is an ageing author called Lakshmi Narayana Malgudi and in the movie's narrative, ‘Malgudi’ signifies three different meanings,” he clarifies, adding, “This film will be nostalgia-inducing and very relatable for people of all age groups. And Vijay Raghavendra’s acting prowess will take you back to his Ninagagi days.”
