Kurmavatara to release

Kurmavatara, a movie directed by National Award-winning director Girish Kasavaralli, will release across Karnataka this week. The film, which is produced by Basant Kumar Patil, won the National Award for Best Feature Film in Kannada.
The movie is based on a story written by well-known Kannada writer Kum Veerabhadrappa and stars Dr Shikaripura Krishnamurthy, veteran actress Jayanthi, HG Somashekar, Aoorva Kasaravalli and Rashmi Abhayasimha. The protagonist is a government servant who is on the verge of his retirement and forced to play the role of Mahatma Gandhi in a TV serial. After this, his life changes completely. He imbibes the values of Gandhi and views life from a different perspective. The turmoil that he undergoes because of this transformation and the challenges he faces are captured in Kurmavatara.
The music for the film has been composed by Isaac Thomas, and the movie has been edited by MN Swamy. Shashidar Adapa is the art director, while Girish Kasaravalli has written the screenplay, in addition to directing the film.
