Kannada film team's tribute to Crazy Star Ravichandran

Followers of Kannada cinema would recall the 1989 film Yuga Purusha, starring V Ravichandran and Khushboo. Years later, the industry will see yet another film with the same name releasing this Friday. This one stars Arjun Dev and Poonam in lead roles. While it is known that film titles have a lock in period, and therefore can be reused only after a gap of over 10 years, the makers of this film have a sweet reason why they chose to use this title again.
“The story or characterization in the soon-to-be-released Yugapurusha have nothing to do with the older one with the same name.The reason why we chose this title is because my mother Anusuya Devaki Kumar has been a huge fan of Ravichandran sir. It was only apt for me to pick this title for my debut,” says Arjun Dev. Sweet, indeed!
