Three days on a cruise with friends was just the break Aindrita Ray needed. Fresh from her chilled out holiday, the actors returned to wrap up her two films Parijatha and Paramathma. It was exhilarating . We left from Chennai and spent two days on the cruise, after which we were in Mahabalipuram for a day. After the holiday, Ive just shot for the climax scene of Paramathma, which was very intense.
We were supposed to then shoot for a couple of songs, but there was a dancers association strike and the schedule had to be pushed by a couple of days, says Aindrita. The next few days will be a lot of song and dance for her, as shell also shoot for the songs of Parijatha. Ive been picking up costumes for the songs of both films, says the actor. She has been taking charge of designing her look in the films, which she attributes to two factors . I have an impeccable taste in clothes, she laughs, But more importantly, theres cost cutting happening in Sandalwood. Instead of hiring a designer and upping costs, producers now ask us to pick what we want, to wear she adds.
Parijatha and Paramathma apart, theres not much happening for Andy in terms of projects. Have the offers dried up? No. There are offers, but discussions are still in early stages. But not much is really interesting me. Right now, nothing can be better than working in a Yogaraj Bhat (YB) movie, she states.
Questions remain about Aindritas role in the YB film. She is, after all, only one of two heroines in the film and Deepa Sannidhi is Puneeths love interest. Also, she was quoted as saying that shed even do a guest role for Yogaraj. My comment was taken out of context. Yogaraj has in the past given me an award-winning role in Manasaare and I owe a lot to him.
He is one of the few directors who gives his heroines proper character sketches and utilizes them to the best of their capabilities . I did say that I would do a cameo in a YB film if he wanted me to, but that doesnt mean that I have a small, inconsequential role in Paramathma. My character is a very important link in the story, she says.
As a first, the actor has also shared screen space with another female actor. I dont like ensemble casts at all. I did this only for Yogaraj. I will think twice before doing it again, she signs off.
