Personal life
Sri Murali is the son of Parvathamma Rajkumar’s brother S A Chinne Gowda, who is also an actor and producer. Dr Rajkumar was his uncle and actors Shivarajkumar, Puneeth Rajkumar and Raghavendra Rajkumar are his cousins. He married girlfriend Vidya in 2008, and they have a son and daughter together.
Big debut
Sri Murali marked his debut with ‘Chandra Chakori’ and went on to feature in ‘Kathi’. He played the role of student in the movie, who falls in love with a Marathi girl. The plot mainly focused on the dispute on linguistic grounds between Karnataka and Maharashtra.

Sri Murali started his career in 2003 with ‘Chandra Chakori’. Later, he featured in films like ‘Kathi’, ‘Siddu’, ‘Shambu’, ‘Yashwant’, ‘Preethigaagi’, ‘Shivamani’, ‘Minchina Ota’, ‘Sri Harikathe’ and many others. He has also featured in Telugu and Malayalam movies. His biggest hit in recent time was ‘Ugramm’.
Success with ‘Ugramm’
‘Ugramm’ was a career-changing film for Sri Murali. After a series of failures Sri Murali signed up for 2008 release ‘Ugramm’, which was initially named ‘Nandhe’. The project took 4-5 years to complete and was directed by Prashanth Neel. It became a huge commercial hit and established Sri Murali has a successful actor in Sandalwood
Upcoming projects
After the success of ‘Bharatee’, Sri Murali has signed two new movies, which will be directed by Dr Suri and Mahesh Kumar respectively. Director Prashanth Neel is writing the story for his directorial, which he is also producing.
