Reportedly, It is claimed that many people in the Kannada industry consume drugs. This news obviously came as a shocker to the audiences and thus many Kannada films have been made around the same lines to create awareness and show the adverse effects of drugs. Though the Kannada film industry has tried to create awareness, unfortunately, it is currently in the bad stage. Let's take a look at the top Kannada movies which fought against drugs.

‘Shabdavedhi’ was the last movie of legendary actor Dr. Rajkumar’s career. The actor decided to act in the movie, which revolves around narcotics. The movie is about a police officer dealing with the problem of the youth who fall victim to drugs. The movie which is directed by S. Narayan showcases how drugs are spoiling college students differently.

Actor Vijaya Ragavendhra plays the drug addict in the movie ‘Rishi’. This movie also starred Shivarajkumar in the lead role and the movie revolves around drug dealings. Shivrajkumar struggles to get Vijaya Ragavendhra out of this addiction. They also try to put some drug peddlers behind the bars. ‘Rishi’ which was directed by Prakash, was also remade in Telugu after its success in Kannada.

‘Lucia’ was one of the biggest superhit movies in 2013, which deals with drugs. Even though the movie falls under the psychological thriller genre, it showcases how drugs impact life after consumption. Sathish Ninasam played the lead role in this movie, which is directed by Pawan Kumar.

‘Kendasampige’ directed by Duniya Suri talks about drugs, in fact, the whole story stands on drugs. The movie is about how the police make money from drugs, how to cover it up, and how innocents get caught. The movie also has a sequel, which will be produced soon.
