In 2008, American-Indian Shilpa Jagadish launched E-Preeti, a tale of Kannadigas based in the USA. The film had Diganth, Tejaswini Prakash and Nina in the lead. A little over a year later, Shilpa was miffed with the team, especially lead actor Diganth, alleging that he had misused her hospitality and was apparently spotted in her bedroom with the film’s heroines.
While Diganth had maintained a dignified silence throughout on this issue, producer Narayan Hosmane had issued a letter saying that he was upset with his director and wanted her to apologize to Diganth at a press conference.
Recently, Shilpa announced that the team will finish the film and release it soon and even held a press conference to announce the same, in the presence of heroine Tejaswini. She also claimed that all differences between her and the rest of the team had been sorted out. Diganth, who was shooting in Europe for his Hindi film at the time of the conference, is now back in the country. He says, “I haven’t yet discussed anything with the makers. I will consult the Artistes’ Association and the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce before communicating anything to the team.”
