A mystery ingredient that a lot of people seem to be consuming unknowingly is resulting in serious addiction, and in many cases, untimely deaths. Caught right in the midst of this undercover scam is a young couple — Avinash and Anagha — who are unaware of the fact that they may be any sort of danger.

After a rather impressive Beautiful Manasugalu, director Jayathirtha returns with a thriller that is pieced together with the help of a little love story.

Avinash bumps into childhood friend Anagha after a gap of over 10 years. While their friendship seems to take off right where it had been brought to a halt after Anagha moved away, nothing prepares them for the unexplained situations that they get embroiled in. The very day after Avinash meets Anagha and promises to meet again, he finds her on a bridge staring at a dead man who she may or may not have killed. Then unravels more such plots. Lavanya, a teacher at the college Anagha goes to, is found murdered at her home. While Lavanya happens to be Anagha's brother Praveen's girlfriend of five years, Praveen is also missing from the scene.

The highlight of the film is 'Vanilla' — it is what keeps you on the edge right through. What is Vanilla? Why are so many people mentioning it? Why do they want it? And who is behind this mystery makes up the rest of the gripping story. Add to this the situational humour that flows smoothly into the screenplay and provides the required relief from the questions that fill your mind at every twist and turn, both related or otherwise.
