Sagar

Story: It’s a commercial movie by director MD Sridhar with a bit of sentiment, humour, stunts, fights and high drama. We see a drug mafia don falling in love with the heroine and goes to the extent of killing his friend for her sake.

Movie Review: Armed with an excellent script, director MD Sridhar has woven a love story with a difference. An international drug mafia don falls in love with a girl in Australia and is ready to sacrifice anything for her. The director makes the narration interesting by bringing in a family sentimental track and ending the story with an excellent fighting sequence for the front benchers. It could have been trimmed by at least 20 minutes to make it compact.

Sonu (Devgil), the drug don, falls in love with Kajal (Radhika Pandit) and flies to India to meet her. She stays with the big family of Rajashekhara Murthy (Avinash), an industrialist. Sonu stays with Sampath (Sharath Lohithshwa), also an industrialist and an arch rival of Rajashekhara Murthy. There is also a drama behind Kajal joining Rajashekhara Murthy’s family and falling in love with Sagar (Prajwal Devaraj). We also have Priyanka (Haripriya), Sagar’s relative, who had rejected Sagar’s family’s proposal to her. High drama unfolds when Kajal is kidnapped by Sampath’s goons to help Sonu marry her. The rest is how Sagar frees her from the clutches of the goons with some interesting twists and a happy end.

While Prajwal Devaraj has given a matured performance, Radhika Pandit impresses you with her expressions. Haripriya gives a glamorous touch to her role with an impressive performance. AV Krishnakumar’s cinematography is amazing. Music director Gurukiran has given catchy tunes to the lyrics of Kaviraj. BA Madhu’s dialogues are impressive.
