Damayana

Plot: Damodara, a social media addict, who is from a village who hasn’t completed his studies migrates to the city for better life.

Movie review: Dude Damodara (Sreemukha) who hasn't had time to complete his degree, loafs around his village, with his only interest lying in social media. This infuriates his parents who keep nagging him to find some work to make money.

Annoyed at his parents' interference, Damodara leaves his home in the middle of the night and heads to Mangaluru. His only ambition-to become famous overnight without putting in any effort. He believes his move to Mangaluru would help him achieve his dream, as he thinks life in the urban city would be easy. However, it's not a smooth ride for him, who finds it very difficult to adjust to the fast-paced life in the city.

What thickens the plot is Damodara's attempt to get out of the situation, and the way he reacts to the challenging things that come his way. Also, there is a cute love story brewing amidst all the chaos, which makes the film intriguing.

Actor and director Shreemukha, who has prior experience in making short films, has managed to grab the attention with his antics. As the plot is only about the life of Damodara, other characters have taken a backseat, which is a shortcoming. In his first attempt, Sreemukha has successfully brought alive on the screen what he envisioned. Songs are melodious and most of the characters are close to reality. Overall, Damayana can be considered a one-time watch.
