IU plagiarism accuser identified by police, defamation lawsuit to continue

In a recent update, EDAM Entertainment confirmed that the anonymous individual who reported singer IU to the police for plagiarism has been identified. This revelation comes after the police dismissed the case in August, stating it did not directly involve the original composers or the actual composers of the songs in question. EDAM Entertainment referred to the incident as an attempt to defame IU.


The anonymous accuser had reported IU to the police in May, alleging six instances of copyright violations. Despite the police dismissing the case earlier, EDAM Entertainment took legal action by filing a defamation lawsuit in September against the individual in question. Now, approximately three months later, the police have successfully identified the accuser, and this information has been shared with IU's legal representative at Shinwon Law Firm.

Although EDAM Entertainment refrained from providing further details due to the ongoing lawsuit, they emphasized that the defamation lawsuit will persist until the accuser faces legal consequences for their actions.
