Sparsh-The Band
After performing at various college festivals, city events and featuring in Riteish Deshmukh’s Hindi film Banjo, Mumbai-based band Sparsh recently released their second single 'Samandar'. The group, which comprises Rahul Bhavsar (guitar), Ajinkya Jadhav (bass), Nikhil Pachpande (keys, vocals), Soham Pathak (lead vocals) and Virendra Kaith (drums), says that the biggest moment for them was when they recently opened for 'Indian Ocean', Farhan Akhtar, Benny Dayal, and Swarathma at a cultural festival.

Their brand of music
According to them, music is a vibration that needs to be experienced. They say, “For us, performing a song is like meditating. We have allowed our music to take its own course and it has worked for us. Our compositions have a modern rock sound replete with guitars, synthesisers and drums. We like working with Indian, Western and world music and incorporate reggae, jazz and blues in our tracks.” Their songs are high on emotions and the lyrics are usually penned by the band members themselves.
Their story
Rahul and Ajinkya are the founding members of the band. The duo started off by jamming near a creek in Thane and aspired to form their own band someday. Eventually, they moved to a cement factory and called it their ‘jam room’. Over a period of time, the factory workers became their audience. Soon, the boys started looking for a singer and percussionist. Finally, they were joined by Nikhil, Soham and Virendra and that’s how Sparsh got grooving.
