Sahil Sharma, popularly known as Zaeden, says he is completely focussing on singing and songwriting now. The artist - who recently launched his debut album Genesis 1:1- shares, “Being a DJ and having to always be on the road limited me in some way. I felt like I was not challenging myself enough as a musician. Singing and songwriting opened up a different world for me and I am glad it did.”
The musician, who has been working on his album since the past year, says he's “excited, nervous and scared" about its release.
"I don’t know how to put all these feelings into words, but it was just absolutely amazing to release the album,” he says.
The pandemic has been a difficult time for a lot of artists, Zaeden says he too went through a low phase. He explains, “The pandemic took a toll on my mental health. It was extremely difficult to wake up to such horrific news every day or to focus on my work. However, on the good days, it really helped me introspect and most importantly, learn so much.”
The artist, who recently visited his family in Gurgaon, shares that there were many things that kept him busy amid the pandemic. “It was great being home and diving deep into singing and songwriting. Music has been a form of therapy and has helped me stay busy. Once in a while, I play cricket. I love that sport! I also tried cooking and failed miserably at it,” says Zaeden, adding that he misses performing live for his fans. “Online shows really help me connect with my fans and stay in touch with everyone. But honestly, it’s not the same. Being on stage, with people listening and singing along to your songs is a very special feeling, and I don’t think virtual shows can replace that. I just hope that the COVID situation gets better soon and I go back on tour and get to see my fans again,” he says.
