They say all good things come in small packages and Tanvi Shah does this adage more than justice. Putting her Grammy award victory as a thing of the past, the sensuous crooner is all set to realise another dream of hers.Apart from crooning for the Tamil and Telugu version of Mani Ratnam’s Raavan, she is also going to be singing later tonight at the cricket awards ceremony.
“When I got the call from Rahman’s office to be part of the closing ceremony, my joy knew no bounds. I was elated because I have always been hooked on to sports and have been following every cricket match, especially the ones that my home team plays.”
Tanvi will be part of the Rahman entourage (that will include
Lata Mangeshkar) that will set the stage on fire at the closing ceremony later tonight at Mumbai. So, what will she be singing? “Well, no prizes for guessing...obviously I’m going to be singing Jai Ho. It’s become my anthem! But I’m most excited about watching the finals at the stadium with all my friends and cheer for Team Chennai. When we were watching the semi-finals, I was at the edge of my seat. But I was confident that our boys would pull it off, because Dhoni really did play Captain Cool. He seemed unruffled and collected, despite a mediocre total and that worked in our favour.”
Apart from being charged up about watching the finals live, there is something else that the singer is kicked about. “I am a huge
Shah Rukh Khan fan. I just hope I don’t swoon when I see him!”
