Voctronica, a cappella ensemble, reached a new career high after delivering a performance at the Kaun Banega Crorepati Season Finale, earning a standing ovation from
Amitabh Bachchan. The episode, which aired earlier this month, marked a landmark moment for the group, catapulting their journey from digital and niche stages firmly into mainstream Indian television.
Performing on KBC, a show that has become part of India’s collective memory over its 25-year run, was deeply symbolic for the band. The occasion was made even more special by Voctronica’s reinterpretation of some of Amitabh Bachchan’s most iconic songs, performed in front of the legend himself.

Calling the experience “inspiring,” band member Arjun Nair said, “Performing some of his own iconic songs for him, on such a beloved finale on Indian TV, was second only to being in Mr Bachchan’s enigmatic presence. A happy milestone for us all, and a learning.”
‘A core memory for life’ For many members, the evening transcended performance and entered the realm of the unforgettable. Warsha Easwar described the moment as deeply surreal. “It was a surreal and special honour to not only meet and perform for Mr. Bachchan but also hear him sing his heart out live at the KBC finale shoot, a moment we could never have imagined and will always be grateful for.
A true core memory for the band and for each of us.”
Highlighting the larger significance for the genre itself, Ronit Chaterji noted, “Really proud to see not only the band, but also a cappella music featured in a big way on such a prestigious stage. The unique opportunity of performing a living legend’s songs to the legend himself is not lost upon me.”
A moment of humility and gratitude Several members spoke of the humility of being acknowledged personally by Amitabh Bachchan. “It is incredibly humbling when a legend shakes your hand, thanking you for what you did for him,” said Clyde Rodrigues. “Eternally grateful to everyone involved for making this happen for Voctronica.” Echoing the emotional weight of the occasion, Nagesh Reddy reflected on KBC’s cultural importance.“KBC is not just a television show, it’s a part of India’s collective memory, and completing 25 years makes it even more special. Paying tribute to Amitabh Bachchan sir, whose voice, presence, and journey have inspired generations, felt surreal. It’s something I will carry with me for a lifetime.”
For Anup Gaikwad, the performance marked a personal milestone. “Making my television debut on India’s biggest stage and in front of Amitabh sir was never on my bingo card. It still feels unreal… Grateful beyond words.”
Eyes on the global stage With national recognition now firmly in place, Voctronica is looking beyond Indian shores. The group is set to embark on a Taiwan Tour in April 2026, signalling the next phase of its rapidly expanding international journey. From digital virality to a standing ovation on one of India’s most iconic television stages, Voctronica’s KBC moment stands as both a celebration of how far the band has come, and a glimpse of how far it is yet to go.
