'Nobody can romance like Shahrukh Khan in the whole world': When Arijit Singh said the 'King' star has 'romantic blood'
The film industry and music world was left shell shocked this week with Arijit Singh announcing his retirement from playback singing. Taking to his social media handle, Singh had shared that he is "calling it off". As industry peers, ardent fans and netizens reacted to the news, several old videos and anecdotes linked to Arijit Singh have been resurfacing across social media platforms. One such moment that caught everyone’s attention again was Singh's praise for Shah Rukh Khan from several years ago.
When Arijit Singh praised Shah Rukh Khan
In 2017, Arijit Singh openly praised Shah Rukh Khan in a beautiful way. At that time, Arijit had sung the song ‘Zaalima’ for Shah Rukh Khan’s film 'Raees'. When the song was launched, Singh shared his thoughts about the superstar, saying, “SRK has romantic blood in his body. Nobody can romance like Shahrukh Khan in the whole world. Love and Respect.”Those words stayed with fans for years. Many felt Arijit said what millions already believed.
Shah Rukh Khan replied to Arijit with equal warmth, “Tum gaate hi aise ho pyaar khud bahar aa jaata hai (The way you sing, love just naturally comes out.). Thanks again.”
Virat Kohli’s old post about Arijit Singh resurfaces
Along with this rare SRK-praise moment, another old post featuring Virat Kohli also resurfaced. After Arijit’s announcement, fans found former Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli's 2016 post on X (now Twitter). In that post, Kohli had written, “I am probably one of the biggest fans of Arijit Singh. Mesmerized by his talent and soulful voice. I am short of words actually.”
The love did not stop there. In a later post the next year, Virat Kohli had also shared a photo with Arijit Singh, captioning it as, “Pure fanboy moment for me. What an amazing person he is. No one has captivated me with their voice like this man. God bless you Arijit.”
