It’s a known fact that pop albums in India do not have the same craze as film albums. And, singer
Neha Bhasin seems to realise this. So, she says that she will be using unconventional ways of promotions to popularise her solo debut album, Tabaah.
“We are using new media like video blogging, voice blogging, live chat to promote the video along with social networking sites and micro-blogging sites,” says Neha.
The Pesugiren... singer will be also doing a Tabaah tour, targeting the smaller metros, to promote the album. And she reveals that she is planning to monetise by uploading the video onto a popular video sharing site! “The way it works, viewers will not be required to pay to watch the video and at the same time, I, as an artiste, will also be able to monetise based on the number of views,” quips Neha, who believes this tool is a boon for music artistes. Looks like innovation is the marketing mantra for independent musicians. Wotsay?
