Reggae legend Bob Marley’s son Rohan, on a recent trip to the capital, said he was in India to ‘reach his true self’ We recently met Bob Marley’s son Rohan Marley at an event in the capital, on his maiden trip to India, soaking in the lovely Delhi weather and ‘trying to reach his true self.’ He’s here for business, but he’s so fascinated by India that he’s been extending his trip and has no idea when he’ll return home.
“I’ve postponed my stay so that I can spend more time in India. And I want to refer to India as Bharat because of the ancient and wise men that have lived here from way before my time. I want to see Bharat because this country has a lot of history and knowledge and I want to learn a lot from that. I have no idea when I’m leaving, I am just extending my trip right now. Apart from work, I am also here to launch my enlightened life, to reach my inner soul, to reach the heights of who I am. That’s why I’ve come to India. It’s important, everyone should come to India,” he told us.
And why does he have such an Indian name? “I was named after the great cricketer Rohan Kanhai, as my family was great lovers of cricket,” he explained. Rohan admitted to having all of his father’s records, but not being a singer. “But as recreation, I am very passionate about music,” he said.
Only Delhi and Mumbai are on his itinerary for this trip, but he plans to return to India in February and visit more places.
