Exclusive! Sachet Tandon on demise of SP Balasubrahmanyam: My childhood was full of his songs especially that he sang for Salman Khan

The demise of SP Balasubramanyam has left a huge void in the music industry that can never be filled. The legendary singer has sung over 40,000 songs in as many as 16 languages including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.
Reacting to the news of his demise, singer-composer, Sachet Tandon said, “I seriously don't know what's happening. This pandemic is taking away so many artists from us.My childhood was full of his songs especially all his Salman Khan songs. My most favourite was ‘Roja’ which became so big back then and all his songs were on everyone's mind.”

Elaborating further, he added, “It was just recently that I read about him recovering. The news of Bala Sir's demise is extremely sad. Everybody who has known him and his works would miss him terribly. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.”

The late singer was hospitalized in August after he tested positive for COVID-19. On September 4, he tested negative but reportedly continued to be on the ventilator and ECMO even as he participated in passive physiotherapy.
