Avitesh Shrivastava collaborates with Akon for independent songs

At his Mumbai concert, Smack That hitmaker Akon called Avitesh Shrivastava on stage and showered love on the youngster and his father, late composer Aadesh Shrivastava. “His father was the first person to bring me to India and introduce me to this beautiful culture, my second home. He (Avitesh) is the reason why India is so close to my heart right now,” Akon said during the concert.

This emotional moment sparked buzz about Akon’s collaboration with Avitesh. Confirming the same, Avitesh shared that he and Akon have already recorded three songs together, with both of them featuring on each track. “I’ve added a desi tadka to the music. We need to introduce people to our culture and promote it. These are global independent songs,” said Avitesh, adding that out of the three songs, two are composed by him and one by Akon.


Avitesh also shared that one of the songs was recorded in India when Akon was here last year. “He asked me to pick him up from the Mumbai airport. Before heading back to LA, we spent the entire night recording a song at my Mumbai studio. It was impromptu,” Avitesh recalled.

Speaking about his bond with ‘Uncle Akon’, Avitesh added, “I have known Uncle Akon since I was 12. He was extremely close to my father and had immense respect for him as an artiste. Him calling me on stage was a feeling I can’t describe in words. It was a great surprise.”
