Why Lekar Hum Deewana Dil is worth a watch

After Karisma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor ruled Bollywood for years, the fourth grandson of showman Raj Kapoor now takes on the family legacy with the release of his film ‘Lekar Hum Deewana Dil’ opposite South siren Deeksha Seth. The film directed by Arif Ali, brother of noted filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, is the most talked about flick as it marks the acting and directorial debut of Armaan and Arif, respectively. With the film hitting the silver screens today, know why the film is worth a watch.

Kapoors' aashirwad- ‘Lekar Hum Deewana Dil’ derives its title from the hit song of the 1973 film ‘Yaadon Ki Baaraat’. Since the song was picturised on Armaan Jain’s aunt Neetu Singh, the film has an old connect with the Kapoor Khandaan. The whole of the Kapoor clan had made it to the grand music launch of the film to welcome the star kid in the film industry. Since all from grandma Krishna Kapoor, aunts and uncles – Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Singh, Rajiv Kapoor and cousins Kareena Kapoor and Karisma Kapoor came to cheer him at the music launch, Armaan Jain definitely has a strong cheer group to boost his acting debut.

Armaan Jain- Armaan Jain may not have Kapoor in the place of his surname but he is one of the heirs of the Kapoor legacy. Being the grandson of superstar Raj Kapoor, Armaan has acting in his genes and with the able guidance of his cousin Ranbir Kapoor, Armaan Jain has all that it takes to make it big in Bollywood. The debutant who grabbed attention during Kareena Kapoor’s wedding, looks convincing in the film’s trailer. Armaan is not new to the camera as he has worked as an assistant director for films - My Name Is Khan, Student of the Year and Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu.

Deeksha Seth
While Varun Dhawan is a debutant, Deeksha Seth is a professional in the South Indian cinema. The former Femina Miss India 2009 finalist has already featured in six Telugu and two Tamil films. Deeksha was chosen from among 70 girls for her big Telugu debut ‘Vedam’ opposite Allu Arjun. The film won huge accolades with four major Filmfare Awards. Looking at her success down south, Deeksha looks promising in ‘Lekar Hum Deewana Dil’ trailer.

AR Rahman- Music is the essence of a love story. Doing the honours for Armaan Jain’s debut, Oscar winner AR Rahman has lent his voice and his six compositions for the film ‘Lekar Hum Deewana Dil’. The music maestro has infused magic with his numbers ‘Khalifa’, ‘Maloom’ and ‘Alaahda’ already ranking in the chartbusters. AR Rahman went a step ahead by playing the piano at a musical concert to compliment the singers at a special musical concert which gave a new high to the film’s promotions.

Arif Ali
‘Lekar Hum Deewana Dil’ is not just the Bollywood debut of Armaan Jain but also the directorial debut of Imtiaz Ali’s brother Arif Ali. Arif worked as an assistant writer for the film ‘Aahista Aahista’ which was directed by Imtiaz Ali. If Armaan hails from the legendary Kapoor family, Arif Ali also has brother Imtiaz’s genius filmmaker traits in his blood. We wish luck to the debutants actor-director duo for the film releasing on July 4.

Storyline- ‘Lekar Hum Deewana Dil’ is not a typical love story. The film looks into the ‘act first, think later’ attitude of the youth who make mistakes in relationships. The film is the story of two friends – Armaan Jain and Deeksha Seth - who make wrong decisions in a jiffy and face its aftereffects. It looks into the youth’s unrealistic expectations and how they learn from their past mistakes with a promise of not repeating them in the future. If you liked the hit film ‘Pyar Ka Punchnama’, you may like this one too.
