When Bollywood celebs bumped into their exes

Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor are two mature Bollywood actors who have earned their own name and fame in Bollywood. The ex-flames showed great maturity and professional understanding while coming together under one roof for the promotions of their film ‘Udta Punjab’ which ran into deep trouble with the Censor Board over its content. However, one could clearly see an uncanny discomfort between Bebo and Sasha when they shared the stage together after years of their break-up. Shahid and Kareena, who were last seen in super hit ‘Jab We Met’, post which they parted ways, will now be seen in ‘Udta Punjab’ , although they won’t be seen sharing screen together. When asked about such awkward situation and the evident discomfort between them, Kareena said that it (their love affair) happened a long time ago and the media must realise that we need to look into the future. Well said, Bebo!

Alleged former lovers, Sonakshi Sinha and Arjun Kapoor reportedly gave each other the royal ignore at a celebrity football match recently. Reportedly Sonakshi was present at the Andheri Sports Complex, along with Amitabh Bachchan, Harbhajan Singh and Zaheer Khan, as a special guest at the charity football match. While Sona cheered for her other B-Town buddies, she reportedly looked through Arjun and even the latter refused to acknowledge her presence. Apparently the duos discomfort was very evident.

Former flames, Shahid Kapoor, and Kareena Kapoor Khan broke the ice after 9 years when they stepped out for the trailer launch of their upcoming film 'Udta Punjab,' also starring Alia Bhatt and Punjabi sensation Diljit Dosanjh. The duo looked pretty comfortable in each other's company during the event and Shahid even went on to announce that his wife Mira Rajput is indeed pregnant and that he's going to be a father real soon. The entire cast then opted to click a selfie with the crowd in the background, and pic saw Shahid and Kareena pose for a selfie for the first time ever! And don't they look absolutely mind-blowing? Although the two are not paired opposite each other in the film, we've been seeing a lot more pictures of the two of them during the promotional tours of the film.

The million dollar question before the 'Udta Punjab' trailer launch was that will two of the film's protagonists - Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan - come together for it. The two had religiously avoided each other in the past, given their history as ex-lovers. However, the two took everyone by surprise when they took to the stage for the trailer launch of the film. While Alia Bhatt stood strategically betwween the two, the fact that Shahid and Kareena were in the same room, sharing the stage, seemed to be much of a novelty. Kareena, was the first to break the ice and then on the two seemed quite comfortable around each other, as they answered questions patiently. While, the trailer has no scenes of the two of them together, it was indeed a pleasure to see them come together for the promotions, nine years after they were last seen together.

Salman and Aishwarya shoot at Mehboob Studios

Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have always avoided bumping into each other. However, it seems like the two are in the same place at the same time. Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai are shooting at Mehboob Studios. However, they are not shooting together. While, Salman is shooting for a Being Human campaign, Aishwarya is there for a magazine cover photo-shoot. They are shooting in different sections of the studio and it seems highly unlikely that the two will bump into each other. However, we wonder what will it be like if they happen to cross paths.

While the two must be planning their schedules carefully, rumoured couple, Sonakshi and Shahid were cordial to each other when they met after their reported break-up...

During the shoot of R... Rajkumar, reports about the growing proximity between Sonakshi Sinha and Shahid Kapoor kept doing the rounds. Their chitchat with Karan Johar on Koffee With Karan, further strengthened the rumour of their link-up. As per a report, Sonakshi and Shahid were seen catching up at a recently held event. The duo spoke for a few minutes and were seen smiling, the report further stated. Sonakshi is currently rumoured to be dating heartthrob Arjun Kapoor. But that did not seem to have stopped Shahid from catching up with her.
While Sonakshi and Shahid dealt with the situation gracefully, let's take a look at how other Bollywood celebs reacted when they came face-to-face with their exes.

According to a PTI report, Amitabh Bachchan has said that he will not rule out the possibility of working with the Rekha in future films. The two have starred together in films like Silsila, Mr Natwarlal, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar and the 72-year-old actor, who was last seen in R Balki's Shamitabh, said the director wants to make a movie with him and Rekha. "Balki keeps threatening me that he wants to design a film together... Let me see if someone has a story which is appropriate... then why not," Big B was quoted as saying in the report. Also putting an end to all speculations, Amitabh has clarified that he and Rekha don't come together in Shamitabh. "We actually don't come together, it is a part of a sequence. When people will watch the film they will understand. It is always nice to have such great luminaries in the film," he said.

We take a look at instances when exes came face to face...

According to a Mid-day report, while promoting Alone on a TV show, Bipasha Basu was asked to rate male actors on their hotness quotient. She generously gave 7 out of 10 to Anil Kapoor for his famous hairy body, but when asked to rate her ex-flame John Abraham, the actress replied, "Kaun? (meaning Who?)," states the report. "You should have asked Bachchan Sir, 10 out of 10. That’s a hot man," the report quoted Bipasha. She also gave full marks to Hrithik Roshan, concludes the report.

A recent awards show saw estranged couple Jennifer Winget and Karan Singh Grover come under one roof. Both Jennifer and Karan, who have confirmed their impending divorce, have avoided talking to media about the matter. According to a report on hindustantimes.com, an awkward encounter was aborted at the awards they attended as Karan came with Bipasha Basu, his co-star in his upcoming film, Alone. Jennifer, on the other hand, was accompanied by her Phir Se... co-star, Kunal Kohli. The report quoted a source present at the event, “The two spoke about their films and their experiences, but walked away when asked about the divorce. They also ensured that a red-carpet meeting didn’t occur.”

Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor's love story had grabbed eyeballs in the past. After their infamous break up in 2007, the stars assured that they have moved on. As per a report in Times of India (January 18, 2014), Shahid was rehearsing for an awards show and Kareena too was supposed to perform at the same event. While Shahid was practicing on stage, Kareena entered. But on seeing Shahid she quickly took a U-turn and left. She came back for the rehearsals only when Shahid had left the stage.

At another instance, Shahid Kapoor was hosting another awards show along with Farhan Akhtar. And they invited Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan on stage. Kareena greeted both Shahid Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar and even complimented them on their fabulous anchoring. It took Shahid few seconds to digest what had just happened, but he quickly composed himself and thanked Kareena.

While Shahid seems to have come to terms with his break up with Kareena, Priyanka Chopra still is a warm territory. As per a report in the Times of India, Shahid had gone to a dance reality show to promote his movie Haider. Priyanka too had come to the sets to promote her film Mary Kom. But on seeing Priyanka, Shahid went back to his vanity van and locked himself up. Shahid did not come out of the van until he was sure that Priyanka had left.

After the infamous break up of Bipasha Basu and John Abraham, John maintained silence, but Bipasha did not mince her words when talking about John and what went wrong in their relationship. In an interview with the Times of India (dated September 9, 2012) Bipasha spoke at length about how vulnerable and abandoned she felt after her breakup. She said, "I felt abandoned. I was living in a lala land till then. Now sitting today I feel I was so foolish. During those nine years, I retracted from my work, pushed back opportunities, stood like a rock for the man I loved, did not meet people just to give that extra time to make my relationship and then I realized that the thing I was working so hard for was gone overnight. It took me months to realize that it's over and I am abandoned. I went through a lot of pain. I used to howl, went into isolation, it hurt. But then after some time the mind has to take over."

However by February 14 next year, things had taken a different route. The very same Bipasha Basu who felt cheated and abandoned, now felt stronger and better. Her performance in Raaz helped her get a strong foothold in the industry once again. In another interview with the Times of India on February 14, 2013, Bipasha refused to even acknowledge John Abraham. On being asked about John, she said, "Who? I don't know that person."

Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha's alleged love story has always been one of the most talked about real life love stories of Bollywood. While Amitabh and Rekha have never confirmed anything about their relationship in public their mere gesture drives the media crazy. At a recently held awards function Amitabh was given the lifetime achievement award. Rekha had also been invited at the event. Rekha was sitting in the front row, enjoying the show when Amitabh Bachcan and family entered. While onlookers felt there would again be some awkward moment, the unthinkable happened.

While AB junior was busy with the media, Jaya Bachchan saw Rekha and greeted her warmly. Rekha too stood up on seeing Jaya and greeted her. A few seconds later, Amitabh Bachchan entered and unlike the previous occassions where he conveniently ignored Rekha, this time he went ahead and folded his hands and said 'namaste'. Rekha too greeted him with a 'namaste' warmly.

The prospect of a relationship between Bollywood's two most powerful families - the Bachchans and the Kapoors was enough to drive the nation crazy. While the news of Abhishek Bachchan and Karisma Kapoor's engagement made the entire atmosphere festive, the news of their break-up broke many hearts. While the exact reason behind their break up is still a mystery, neither Abhishek nor Karisma have ever said anything bad about each other. Though there were differences between the families and at certain events they even avoided each other, they never gave anyone a chance to point out a finger at the other.

In an interview with TOI (May 29, 2003), Abhishek Bachchan spilled the beans on his broken relationship. He said, "I think I'd be dishonest if I said no. It has. But I'm also of the opinion: don't cry that it's over, smile that it happened. Certain things in life just don't work out. And that's fine, you have to move on and I have no evil feelings towards anybody. I'm not a bitter person. I'm not negative. You have to accept that things weren't intended." In fact Abhishek Bachchan was among the first ones to share the trailer of Armaan Jain's Lekar Hum Deewana Dil. He wrote, "Watch people!! #lekarhumdeewanadil all the best Armaan. Looks like great fun.” [sic] And looks like he really does not hold any evil feelings for anyone.

Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai's love story will be talked about for years to come. While Aishwarya Rai has always maintained a dignified silence over her break up, Salman still seems to have not gotten over her. While hosting the last season of Bigg Boss, Salman had once told Shilpa Saklani that her eyes are beautiful and resemble that of Aishwarya's.
