'Toilet- Ek Prem Katha' to release in across 4300 screens in China
Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar starrer ‘Toilet- Ek Prem Katha’ received a lot of adulation and accolades from the fans as well as the critics. Helmed by Shree Narayan Singh, the film is a satirical comedy in support of governmental campaigns to improve sanitation conditions in India, with an emphasis on the eradication of open defecation, especially in rural areas.
The much significant subject drew the attention on the Indian government after which several programmes surrounding the eradication of public defecation were initiated. Recently, Bhumi met up with some women in Kanpur who are not only up for proper sanitations for women but also are making an effort to spread awareness among other women of their locality in their own unique ways.
Sharing a picture clicked with these women at a Swachh Bharat event in Kanpur on her Instagram, Bhumi captioned the picture as saying, “The Anti-Lota party met these amazing women at a #swachhBharat event yesterday in Kanpur. They actually go every morning & evening and stop people that are about to defecate in the open by flashing their torch light or making noise. He added, "I am talking about sanitary pads in 'Padman' and you'll be sad to know that 91 per cent of women don't use it because they can't afford it. To talk about such things and bring them in the forefront isn't propaganda. You want such issues to be highlighted and talked about."
