Sidharth Malhotra to star in Ekta Kapoor’s next romantic project?

Sidharth Malhotra is out with ‘Aiyaary’ but looking back at his latest film choices, the actor hasn’t done some mushy romance for quite some time. And if the reports are to be believed, the Punjabi lad will be starring in Ekta Kapoor’s next romantic venture.
According to reports, Sidharth and Ekta have met a couple of times to discuss the movie, which is still in the scripting stage. But the idea has been bounced to Sidharth and he has reportedly liked it but he is yet to give a confirmation on the same.
Ekta Kapoor is reportedly producing two movies currently. One project is to be helmed by director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and the second one will reportedly be a sequel to Mohit Suri’s Ek Villain. However, the one starring Sid will reportedly be a different film to be directed by a different director.

Sidharth Malhotra replaces Saif Ali Khan in Aanand L. Rai film?

Earlier on, filmmaker and producer Aanand L. Rai had roped in R. Madhavan and Saif Ali Khan for a film. Saif was actually one of the first actors who was shortlisted for this project. However, now the casting has undergone a major modification.

According to reports, the initial script has undergone a change and Sidharth Malhotra has now replaced Saif in the venture. Apparently, the makers wanted a younger actor for this particular role and so they zeroed in on Sidharth. The actor also agreed to be a part of the project as he believes in the cinematic prowess of Aanand. Meanwhile, Maddy has a good working rapport with Rai after working together on the 'Tanu Weds Manu' films, so it will be smooth sailing for him. This untitled flick will be reportedly helmed by Navdeep Singh who is known for films like ‘NH10’ and ‘Phillauri’.

Here’s why Sidharth Malhotra couldn’t do Salman Khan starrer ‘Race 3’

The cast of Salman Khan starrer ‘Race 3’ has been in the news as different names were thrown in the mix. With Jacqueline Fernandez, Bobby Deol and Saqib Saleem finally making the cut, another star was approached for a role. In a report by PTI, Sidharth Malhotra recently revealed that he missed out on an opportunity to share the screen with Salman in ‘Race 3’ due to date issues.

The report quoted him saying, "There were talks earlier and nothing really culminated. Now they have done their casting. I know Ramesh Taurani and Salman Khan and they are wonderful people to work with. Maybe (I will work with them) in the future if not this.”
"There were no creative differences. There were other things on my plate, so I couldn't shift things around to do that film. There was time limitation, they are starting shoot right now and I couldn't do it. So we couldn't go ahead with it. It would have been great to share the screen space with Salman," he added.
