Sidharth Malhotra speaks about how he reacted after his recent films fared poorly at the box-office
Sidharth Malhotra made his debut in Karan Johar’s ‘Student of the Year’ back in 2012, and the actor has had his share of hits and flops at the box-office. Recently, Sid spoke about three out of his last four films not working out exactly too well.
The ‘Aiyyary’ actor said that cinema is all about experimenting for him and he hasn’t shied away from that as he claimed, no two projects of his are the same — they have all had different stories, characters. Sid added that the movie’s fate after release is something that’s beyond his control. The actor feels that he will continue to push and explore himself. Sidharth believes that now he has enough experience to be more precise and know exactly what he wants out of a movie.
Sidharth Malhotra to star in Ekta Kapoor’s next romantic project?
According to reports, Sidharth and Ekta have met a couple of times to discuss the movie, which is still in the scripting stage. But the idea has been bounced to Sidharth and he has reportedly liked it but he is yet to give a confirmation on the same.
Ekta Kapoor is reportedly producing two movies currently. One project is to be helmed by director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and the second one will reportedly be a sequel to Mohit Suri’s Ek Villain. However, the one starring Sid will reportedly be a different film to be directed by a different director.
Sidharth Malhotra replaces Saif Ali Khan in Aanand L. Rai film?
According to reports, the initial script has undergone a change and Sidharth Malhotra has now replaced Saif in the venture. Apparently, the makers wanted a younger actor for this particular role and so they zeroed in on Sidharth. The actor also agreed to be a part of the project as he believes in the cinematic prowess of Aanand. Meanwhile, Maddy has a good working rapport with Rai after working together on the 'Tanu Weds Manu' films, so it will be smooth sailing for him. This untitled flick will be reportedly helmed by Navdeep Singh who is known for films like ‘NH10’ and ‘Phillauri’.

The report quoted him saying, "There were talks earlier and nothing really culminated. Now they have done their casting. I know Ramesh Taurani and Salman Khan and they are wonderful people to work with. Maybe (I will work with them) in the future if not this.”
"There were no creative differences. There were other things on my plate, so I couldn't shift things around to do that film. There was time limitation, they are starting shoot right now and I couldn't do it. So we couldn't go ahead with it. It would have been great to share the screen space with Salman," he added.

Reportedly, the actor takes it as a compliment that not even a single woman has ever offered to make him her rakhi brother. Sidharth clarifies that even when he was in school, girls didn’t run after him with rakhis. Apparently, in his family, too, they don't follow the rakhi tradition.
