Best Film

Badlapur
The revenge story which saw Nawazuddin Siddiqui play the devil and Varun Dhawan in an emotionally broken avatar was a success at the box office.

Bajirao Mastani
Ranveer Singh stepped into the shoes of Peshwa Bajirao and Deepika Padukone played the warrior princess in this Sanjay Leela Bhansali film which was praised by the critics for its wonderful performances.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan
This Salman Khan film smashed all records at the box office and touched the hearts of the audiences with its emotional story of a deaf and mute Pakistani girl stranded in India.

Piku
The film starring Amitabh Bachchan as a super-obsessed, constipated father of a working woman Deepika Padukone, was an instant favourite among moviegoers.

Talvar
The nation woke up to the Aarushi Talwar murder case again as Meghna Gulzar went on to tell the various sides of the story with raw honesty.

Tanu Weds Manu Returns
The film was one of the biggest blockbusters of 2015 and was much loved for Kangana Ranaut’s double role.

Anushka Sharma - NH10
Anushka Sharma played a strong character who fights all odds while being stuck in a do or die situation in her first production venture.

Deepika Padukone - Bajirao Mastani
Deepika Padukone is one of the very few celebs nominated twice in the same category at the 61st Filmfare Awards. Her portrayal of Mastani was par excellence.

Deepika Padukone – Piku
Deepika played the caring but frustrated daughter of the constipated Amitabh Bachchan in ‘Piku’ and inspired many to name their newborn daughters behind her character’s name.

Kajol – Dilwale
Kajol announced her return to the silver screen in a big way along with Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Dilwale’.

Kangana Ranaut - Tanu Weds Manu Returns
Kangana Ranaut returned with the film in her carefree Tanu avatar and stunned her fans yet again with her amazing Haryanvi accent as she played a double role in the film.

Sonam Kapoor - Dolly Ki Doli
Sonam Kapoor convincingly played a con-bride in ‘Dolly Ki Doli’ besides grooving to some funky dance numbers.

It was a welcome change to watch Big B in a never seen before avatar, that of a constipated man whose life revolves around nothing but the shades of his feaces.

Ranbir Kapoor – Tamasha
Ranbir Kapoor may not have churned billions at the box office but his performance in this Imtiaz Ali film was appreciated by his fans.

Ranveer Singh - Bajirao Mastani
Ranveer Singh garnered immense acclaim for playing Bajirao with excellence in the film, be it his dialogue delivery, his Malhari dance moves or his sword fighting.

Salman Khan - Bajrangi Bhaijaan
Salman Khan mesmerised his fans yet again with his emotional avatar as he fights all odds to make a deaf-mute girl reach her home safely in Pakistan.

Shah Rukh Khan – Dilwale
Shah Rukh Khan is the king of romance and his return with his ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ co-star Kajol proved to be a wish come true for their fans.

Varun Dhawan – Badlapur
Varun Dhawan broke free from his happy-go-lucky characters to play a tragedy-struck man in ‘Badlapur’ and proved that he is more than just a lover boy.

Aanand L Rai delivered ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ fans more than they could have asked for, courtesy, Kangana Ranaut's power packed performance.

Kabir Khan - Bajrangi Bhaijaan
Kabir Khan went to on to deliver the biggest hit of the year ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan' which featured Salman Khan as a soft-hearted man who goes all out to help the deaf and mute girl, Harshaali Malhotra reach her home in Pakistan.

Meghna Gulzar - Talvar
Meghna Gulzar delicately intertwined the events of the Aarushi Talwar murder case without taking sides but highlighting the loopholes in the investigation and the handling of the case.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali - Bajirao Mastani
Sanjay Leela Bhansali is the master of magnum opuses and didn’t disappoint with ‘Bajirao Mastani’. The film was appreciated for its grandeur, battle scenes and wonderful performances.

Shoojit Sircar – Piku
Shoojit Sircar created a unique film which based on the subject of a father-daughter relationship revolving around constipation.

Sriram Raghavan – Badlapur
Sriram Raghavan told an emotional revenge story featuring Varun Dhawan and Yami Gautam which left the audience in tears.
