Manwa Laage crosses a million views in 21 hours!

'Manwa Laage' has created a buzz and why not as the latest song from Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming film 'Happy New Year' is already a hit! No, we aren't just basing out statement on pure speculations but the romantic song from the film managed to get one million views on YouTube in just 21 hours. The song was released late at night on September 9 and got a lot of traction on social media as well. This is the second song from the film 'Happy New Year' that has been released so far. The first song was 'Indiawaale' that released a few days earlier.

'Manwa laage' features Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and the rest of the cast of 'Happy New Year' like Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah. The song is sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Arijit Singh. The music of the film is composed by Vishal and Shekhar. Vishal Dadlani even took to micro blogging website twitter and thanked all his fans for the success of the song and wrote "More than 1Mil views for #ManwaLaage, in 24 hours! To everyone loving it, @ShekharRavjiani and I thank you with all our hearts!" (sic).

'Happy New Year' is directed by Farah Khan who after the success of 'Om Shanti Om' has once again roped in the successful jodi of Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. Deepika had made her debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in OSO and instantly shot to fame. The video of this romantic number is unusual and sets ablaze every time Deepika and King Khan touch each other. Describing this in his own words, King Khan himself tweeted "Lov sets u ablaze, it cuts u loose like wildfire & u burn everything that u touch! It burns & flies, & u run with it" Joybell. Manwa Laage" (sic).

According to a report in IANS, music composers Vishal and Shekhar released a joint statement and said "world that shouts everything loudly, 'Manwa' is a gentle breath of peace and love." (sic). They also added that creating this song with Farah Khan was a "beautiful experience". The duo went on to add that "Shah Rukh and Deepika have gone beyond our expectations in their performance" (sic). It seems that all is fine with the music composers and the King Khan now. It was earlier rumoured that the music composer duo was unhappy with Shah Rukh Khan when he had roped in singing sensation Yo Yo Honey Singh for 'Lungi Dance' in 'Chennai Express' for which they had composed the music as well.

Singer Shreya Ghoshal who has earlier worked with Vishal and Shekhar also took to twitter and wrote "Heart's happy! Thank u @VishalDadlani @ShekharRavjiani for giving me such an extraordinary composition to sing! #HNY" (sic). Shreya Ghoshal soon started trending on Facebook after her song 'Manwa Laage' was released. 'Happy New Year' is a heist film that has six thieves who want to loot diamonds at a dance competition. The film looks like it has all the elements of a typical commercial potboiler. Coming from the Farah Khan stable, we expect nothing but pure masala for the audiences.

The film also stars actor Jackie Shroff and marks the debut of Naseeruddin Shah's younger son Vivaan Shah. 'Happy New Year' is produced by Shah Rukh Khan's wife Gauri Khan under the Red Chillies Entertainment banner. The film will be released on October 24, 2014 keeping in tandem with some of Shah Rukh Khan's earlier films that were released during Diwali.

This will be Farah Khan and actor Shah Rukh Khan's third film together. They have been successful in the past with their films 'Main Hoon Na' and 'Om Shanti Om' that became blockbusters. Like OSO that saw a host of actors and actresses come together for a song, 'Happy New Year' also has a lot of special appearances lined up with actors Dino Morea, Sarah-Jane Dias, Malaika Arora Khan. Directors Prabhu Deva and Anurag Kashyap will also be seen in the film. Music composer Vishal Dadlani, Farah Khan's brother Sajid Khan and actor Anupam Kher are also apparently making special appearances in the movie.
