In an interview with The Times Of India, when asked about the much touted 24 hour kiss, Imran said, "It is extremely mechanical, extremely precise and technical because it is not like you're kissing and getting lost in the moment. You have four people instructing you to do four different things. It is very technical and very uncomfortable because you are holding your body at such an awkward position. We filmed it lying down on the ground, so to make that look like you are walking, you can't lie the way you normally walk. You have to balance on one edge, you cannot move your head, you have to hold your head above the ground while you do all this, by the time you stand up you have spend about an hour or two lying down for one shot. And when you finally stand, your neck feels locked, the back has spasmed so on and so forth, which is why one has to do yoga, stretching sessions so that the flexibility is maintained. I will never do it again. Even though it looks cool, it is very difficult."

In an interview with Bollywoodlife.com, Kangana revealed that she thinks the title of the film Katti Batti is too childish. She goes on to say that the film starts with a love story but the later part is very grey and dark she also informed that she wanted the film to have a darker title because according to her the title does not exactly convey the truth. the Katti Batti actress also asserted that the title is just supporting the marketing strategy of the film, which is of portraying the film as a bubbly love story. she further elaborated on her opinion saying that she also wanted a promo to be cut in which the darker part of the film would be shown, however the makers decided to go with this one and that she had to budge.

‘Didn’t like the script of Katti Batti first’

Imran Khan, who is gearing up for the release of his next, Katti Batti, has revealed that he initially did not like the script of the film, reports IANS. "I troubled Nikhil a lot. When I first read the script, I did not get a hold of it. I called Nikhil straightaway and said I did not like it," Imran said.

Talking about how Nikhil convinced him for the role when he did not like the script, Imran said, "Nikhil wanted me to let him narrate the story once more. As I was in a mood of not doing the movie, so I thought what difference would it make if he narrates. So I kept delaying it for one or two months. After so many ifs and buts and delaying, when Nikhil came to narrate the story, within 20 minutes I wondered if this is the same story I read before."

Police says ‘no’ to ‘Katti Batti’ kissing contest

Katti Batti actors Imran Khan and Kangana Ranaut were to judge a kissing contest as part of the promotional campaign for the film. But the idea has been turned down by the police, reports Mid-day.com. As per the plan, the actors were to choose from among 50 couples during a kissing contest in a Mumbai college, but the authorities were denied permission by the police for the same. Not only this, when the Katti Batti promoters decided to push the event to Bandra Bandstand, the police again denied the permission, the report stated.

According to a report on Bollywoodlife.com, Kangana Ranaut, the lead actress of the film, reportedly went bonkers as soon as the news reached her. The report further states that Kangana was so scared that she hid in her vanity van. Both Nikhil Advani and Imran Khan tried explaining the actress that it was just a rumour but Kangana was not ready to believe it.

According to a PTI report, when Aamir Khan saw the trailer of Katti Batti, he could not stop praising Imran Khan. Imran had made his debut with Aamir Khan Productions’ Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na which was well received at the box office. After a series of unsuccessful outings, the actor once again tasted success with Delhi Belly backed by his uncle's banner. According to an IANS report, Kangana won accolades for her double role in Tanu Weds Manu Returns, which has turned out to be a box office bonanza. Now, the actress will enter the same territory with her film Katti Batti, say sources. Kangana will be seen in a double role as Payal and Bijlee in Nikhil Advani's directorial. However, the filmmakers are tight-lipped about the project. "Everything on Katti Batti is kept under the wraps, no one is revealing the details of the film apart from that it is a love story," a spokesperson said in a statement.

Director Nikhil Advani says that he had to work very hard to get his dream cast of Imran Khan and Kangana Ranaut for Katti Batti. "Imran read the script and said it is rubbish. I said, 'please let me narrate it to you', and then we went to his place, I narrated him the story, and then he said, 'yes it is very different now', and only then he said okay," the filmmaker said. According to Nikhil Kangana also took her time, but she made her mind to get onboard. "And thanks to Kangana Ranaut. I remember after two hours of narration, she said, we should try this, we should try that, and when she said 'we', I was like, thank god, she said yes," said Nikhil.

Filmmakers are probably imposing self-censorship to ensure that their films don't get stuck with the Central Board of Film Certification. Accordingly, director Nikhil Advani has changed the name of Imran Khan and Kangana Ranaut-starrer Katti Batti. According to reports, Nikhil had said, "The earlier title Saali Kutiya was way too gimmicky. It was not necessary at all. The film is about the highs and lows of a relationship and what really transpires in their lives and how it all gets resolved. There is no point of getting such thing just for the buzz. I loved it but I also agreed on why we should drop it. Katti Batti sums up the idea of the film in the same way! What life is, what love is, what their relationship is, best summed up in this title."

Kangana Ranaut has stepped on the other side of the camera for Katti Batti. She has directed the first seven minutes of Nikhil Advani's directorial, in which she will be seen with Imran Khan. According to an IANS report, Kangana took cinematographer Tushar's blessing and gave him Re 1 to allow her to use the camera. "It's a seven-minute uncut sequence. I had to shoot it by holding the camera in my hands which was the demand of the script. It was nerve-wracking, but actors can do anything for a director who shows trust and faith in his actor's abilities. Nikhil is one such director," Kangana said in a statement. "The lighting was completed, the set was cleared out and Kangana has shot the scene like a pro, adding one more talent to her already overflowing basket," Advani said.
