Though the movie was criticised by many for its mind-numbing comedy, the movie became one of the biggest hits of last year. Be it Deepika’s dialogue delivery with a southern accent or SRK’s charismatic gimmicks, Chennai Express won many hearts. The movie had its flaws and these got highlighted in the form of jokes that became viral during its release. Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Chennai Express broke all box-office records and reportedly made more than Rs 300 crore. The movie worked well because of excellent performances by its lead actors Shah Rukh and Deepika Padukone, songs, story and its funny scenes. However, the critics felt that the humour in the movie was not up to the mark and the one-liners were repetitive.
