Shruti Haasan has filed a police complaint against a stalker, a certain Karnataka-based doctor KG Guruprasad. According to reports, the stalker has been sending her derogatory and abusive messages on Twitter since September 7 this year. However, things turned murky when the stalker allegedly threatened to kill her.

The elder daughter of Kamal Haasan has reportedly submitted a two-page complaint to the Cyber Crime Grievance Cell on Wednesday in Chennai. In her complaint, Shruti alleged that the harasser had been using expletives and highly derogatory terms to abuse her and in some of the messages, he threatened to stab the actress if he managed to get near her.

It may be recalled that the actress was attacked by a stalker in her Mumbai home in 2013.

Amid the breakup rumours of Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli, the wayward minds have begun cracking jokes and creating morphed images. Swara Bhaskar files complaint against ATM frauds

Actress Swara Bhaskar is apparently the latest Bollywood celeb to fall victim to ATM fraud. A report on Mid-day.com states that the actress has filed a complaint with the Kharghar police following a 'fraudulent' cash withdrawal. Quoting a source close to the actress, the report stated that the ATM that Swara used was slow and two strangers informed her that it was not functioning properly. But the actress was shocked to receive a message notification of a cash withdrawal just minutes after she left the ATM. Further to the report, Swara confirmed the news saying that she had spent the whole night lodging complaints with the cyber crime cell and the bank.

Actor Salman Khan has filed a complaint with the Cyber Crime Cell as a morphed image of him is being circulated on social network to harm his reputation. According to a report on Mid-day.com, the message accompanying the morphed image claims that Salman has said that he does not need the support of Muslims to make Bajrangi Bhaijaan, a hit. In an application submitted to the Cyber Cell, the actor reportedly denied making any such remarks and said that the image and the message could harm his reputation. The message was reportedly circulated on WhatsApp. Quoting Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime), the report stated that the police have received an application from the actor which has been forwarded to Cyber Crime Cell.

Abhishek Bachchan may have been ignoring trolls on social media targetting him and his films. However, a tweeter had to face the ire of a doting father when he wrote something about Aaradhya Bachchan. In a tweet that was removed later, the troll had reportedly criticised Abhishek's three-year-old daughter Aaradhya. That is when Abhishek replied with a sarcastic tweet. "@Mayankaryan084 you feeling better about yourself now??? Good! Glad to have been of service. Now go back to the hole you crawled out of," he tweeted. This did not stop the tweeter who replied with another tweet that read, "@juniorbachchan yes I feel like top of the world. Best thing I did in my life to stop watching your movie. Thank you sir."

This was followed by a series of tweets from Abhishek admonishing the tweeter in question. He wrote, "@Mayankaryan084 to stop? That means you used to watch them. Thanks for the money." His next tweet read, "@Mayankaryan084 don’t like my movies? That’s cool. Will work harder to make movies you like. Bringing my daughter into it is NOT cool."

This lead to an apology coming from the said troll as he replied, "@juniorbachchan it won't happen again sir."

[sic] Also, another fan posted saying that if actresses accept decent films like KR Vijaya or Revathi, then fans won’t post such abusive comments. To this, Vishakha has sarcastically replied, "Thank you for your feedback. The girl is always to blame, isn't it."

Fukrey actress, Vishakha Singh is giving it back in style on Facebook. When a fan wrote a raunchy comment on her picture, the actress lashed out at him. The actress had posted a photograph of hers on her Facebook that read: “Everybody is somebody’s foreigner. Wearing Madversity’s cool new Tee ..looking forward to more such quotes!” Of the many comments she got on this picture, one said, “Nice looking and nice b****.” Vishakha took no time to take a stand for herself and replied, in jest, to the user: “Mr MD Mustakim Saifi, 1) remove that innocent child’s picture as your dp. 2) have the guts to put your own profile picture. And then comment.” She continued, “I know i am a woman.. And for your general knowledge, Yes, All women have breasts. Your mother, sister, wife, grandmother, aunts, daughter, friends. All of them included. Do you walk up to them and say ‘nice b***s’? Feel sorry for you. Have the guts to say it on my face?? Else, get off my page.” After a few other comments on similar lines, Vishakha took off the picture and wrote, "Deleted the post that went viral. Not afraid of anyone but simply tired of unwanted negativity. A big thanks to all those who supported." [sic]

Karan Singh Grover loses Rs 5.6 lakh in a lottery scam

Alone actor Karan Singh Grover has apparently fallen victim to an online lottery scam, reports IndianExpress.com. In the report, the actor is said to have filed a complaint with the Mumbai police alleging that he has lost Rs 5.6 lakh. Further to the report, KSG had paid this money as processing fees to claim his winning prize money after receiving an email stating that he has won a lottery. The report further mentioned that he was promised some amount after making the payment, but never received it and when he tried to reach out to the fraudsters they became incommunicado.

Producer Ritesh Sidhwani has revealed that his Facebook account has been hacked and some random messages were sent from his social networking page, reports PTI. The Dil Dhadakne Do maker warned his fans about the hack via his Twitter account. "I've been told of some random messages being sent from my Facebook account PLEASE ignore them as its been HACKED...," [sic] Ritesh tweeted. The honcho of Excel Entertainment Pvt Ltd has 131,571 followers on Facebook.

According to a report on Hindustantimes.com, actor Rishi Kapoor has decided to take a temporary break from Twitter as he finds Twitterati rude and impulsive. The actor has been very much active on Twitter since February and many of his tweets have landed him in controversies. Expressing his views on Deepika Padukone’s ‘My Choice’ video, he had referred to women as ‘kamzor’ (weak) inviting the wrath of women across India.

The report quoted the actor saying that he had blocked some 300-400 users who wrote abusive words for him on Twitter. He rued that he has been in the industry for 44 years having done many unconventional roles, but nobody talks about them, the report stated.

According to an ANI repot, singer Taylor Swift says that her Twitter, Instagram accounts were hacked on January 27, 2015, but the rogue posts were quickly removed from the social media services. The pop singer, who has a Twitter account with 51.4 million followers, was later threatened by the culprits to release her naked shots, the report stated. However, the 25-year-old responded to the threat, tweeting, "PS any hackers saying they have 'nudes'? Psssh you'd love that wouldn't you! Have fun photoshopping cause you got NOTHING." [sic] The hacking is believed to be the work of The Lizard Squad, as several tweets had gone from the blonde beauty's account, telling her 71 million plus followers to follow @lizzard and @veriuser, the report concluded.

According to an IANS report, Tamil actor Suriya filed a complaint with the cyber cell against a fake Facebook account on January 23, 2015. The actor is not on any social networking platform as of now, the report stated. "A fake Facebook page of Suriya has been reported. It is an affirmation that he is neither on Facebook nor Twitter. If any such plans are happening in future, the authentic details and news would be officially made available to all," said a statement.

The digital media went abuzz with reports of Ranbir Kapoor joining Twitter on Tuesday (January 20, 2015). The account with the Twitter handle @RANBIRKA6000R received over 20 thousand followers within 24 hours and in no time Ranbir was among the top trends in India with the keyword 'Welcome Ranbir Kapoor'. Surprisingly, the actor didn't post a single tweet on the account on first day, which made fans wonder whether the account is genuine or fake. When we tried to verify the credibility of the account with a reliable source, we were told that the said account hasn't approached for verification yet. In an earlier interview, Ranbir had said that he is too shy to be on social networking. However some reports doing the rounds on the internet have an altogether different story to tell. According to a report on Indianexpress.com, Ranbir will be on social networking platforms to connect with his fans and promote his upcoming film Roy only for six hours on Wednesday (January 21, 2015). A tweet by @RanbirKapoorFC read, "A reminder that Ranbir will be online on these 6 platforms only for 6 hours tomorrow - Jan 21st starting around 2pm IST. Just for his fans!" [sic] However latest developments suggested that Ranbir was on social media to promote a new model of a mobile phone launched by Lenovo.

A Mid-day report states that director Sidharth Malhotra has been receiving calls from actresses who claim that they have sent him their pictures as they had received a message from him. The message apparently states that the director is casting for his next project and would want their pictures for shortlisting their profiles. The director has been quoted in the report as saying that he was on a holiday when he got a call from TV actor, Sanjeeda Sheikh, who told him that someone had used his name to message her asking for her photographs. The director further states in the report that he was shocked at the news as he is not involved with the casting process. The director has registered a case with Bandra police and submitted screen grabs of the photo requests to different actors. Bandra police has also registered a case with the cyber cell. He has been quoted as saying that the number has been traced to the US.

Also at times fake accounts are created in the names of popular celebrities, the same is used to con aspiring actors. We take you through a list of Bollywood celebrities who have been troubled by such fake accounts.

Hrithik Roshan has been a victim of fake email account. According to a PTI report, Hrithik had alleged that an unidentified person had created a fake account in his name, i.e. hroshan@email.com, and was interacting with people from the industry and fans as well. The report further stated that Hrithik had written a four-page letter to Mumbai Police Commissioner, Rakesh Maria, which read, "Many people, including my fans and certain people from film industry, have told me that they are communicating with me on hroshan@email.com. I told them that it is not my email address, but they are not ready to believe the same. I enjoy unprecedented fan following and my fans love and adulate me beyond words. A lot of people have a lot of expectations from a "Super star" and they tend to act in an abnormal manner. Sometimes, our fans tend to write poems and love letters, sometimes they give threats to kill us and also send marriage proposals!"

A similar case happened with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. According to a Mumbai Mirror report an aspirant had called the filmmaker's assistant for an appointment. There were no auditions going on and Bhansali's administration department also confirmed that they had not sent any mail. The report further stated that the matter had been reported to the Juhu police, who went on a lookout for the imposter. The cops suspected that an insider could be involved because the imposter communicated just the way SLB does, stated the report. The Mumbai Mirror report further quoted a Juhu police official, "It appears that the accused wants to harm the reputation of the filmmaker. Claiming he is Bhansali and is facing a cash crunch, he has been inviting people to finance his new project. We suspect he may have been turned down by Bhansali and Hrithik, and hence is targeting both. We are questioning staff of both the celebs for more information."

Some time back, there were rumours of Anurag Basu signing Ranbir Kapoor for yet another film together. An IANS report quoted a Facebook post stating, "Again signed Ranbir Kapoor for next project shooting to start in February 2015. Lead actress not confirmed." [sic] However warning everyone against the imposter, Anurag Basu had posted on his Twitter page that the news had come from a 'fake facebook account'. Filmmaker Anurag Basu and Ranbir Kapoor make for an interesting pair. The duo have given the hit - Barfi, and they are currently working on Jagga Jasoos.

Mahesh Bhatt is known to give breaks to aspiring actors and actresses. But it seems like this trait of the filmmaker spelled trouble for him. According to a Bombay Times report, Mahesh Bhatt had reported to the Mumbai Police about a fake Facebook account which had been inviting fake female faces. The report also said that the fake account had been created in the name of Mahesh N. Bhatt and had several posts calling out for new talent. He had also posted a tweet about the same, "WARNING: Someone is running a fake Facebook Account under my name and misleading people. I am reporting the matter to Mumbai Police." [sic]

According to a Mumbai Mirror report, a scamster posing as Ranveer Singh would interact with aspiring actresses and specifically ask for their bikini pictures. The report quoted a source stating, "A person posing as Ranveer Singh would talk to aspiring actresses on social networking sites about opportunities in films." Confirming the same, Ranveer Singh was quoted in the report syaing, "I've been plagued by the nuisance caused by imposters on social networking sites for some time now." Ranveer Singh is a very popular actor and it seems like scamsters took advantage of his star value.

According to a Mumbai Mirror report, Siddharth Roy Kapur was also connected to Ranveer Singh's case. The report stated that the person who posed as Ranveer Singh had told the aspirants that he would fix their meeting with UTV's Siddharth Roy Kapur. The report quoted a source, "The person would tell the starlets that Siddharth has requested pictures, with specifications of images of them wearing bikinis. To prove authenticity, the imposter would forward the email conversation that purportedly happened between him and Siddharth. Fake email accounts with the celebrity's names were created to fool the aspirants." Siddharth Roy Kapur had told TOI, "Yes, this is extremely disturbing. We have filed a complaint with the cyber crime cell in Mumbai and the matter is currently sub judice. I am just glad we got to know about this sooner rather than later, else this imposter could have duped many more people from the industry."

Back in 2011, Arbaaz Khan too had faced a similar dilemma when his email account was hacked. He had posted on micro blogging site Twitter, "My email accounts have been hacked for the second time this week. I'm gonna lodge a complaint with the cyber cell as its a criminal offence. Hackers don't seem to realize that such an act can land them in jail. " [sic] Arbaaz Khan had also bid adieu to social networking site Facebook, he had posted on Twitter, "I have deactivated my Facebook account . I'm told email accounts usually get hacked because of these social networking sites also. Phew !!!" [sic]
