‘Bhoomi’ director Omung Kumar perplexed after CBFC demands 13 cuts in Sanjay Dutt starrer?

The makers of Sanjay Dutt’s comeback film ‘Bhoomi’ were left in a lurch after the Central Board of Film Certification reportedly demanded total 13 major cuts, including a rape scene in the film. The heart-wrenching tale of a father’s revenge against her daughter’s molesters is what Sanjay’s film, ‘Bhoomi’ is all about. Thus the cuts perplexed the director of the film, Omung Kumar because rape forms the crux of the film.

In a report by Filmfare, a source close to the development of the film said, “The makers argued that the rape is very important to the film. They even cited the example of the recent Sridevi starrer ‘Mom’ where a rape was at the core of the plot. But the argument did not hold water as in ‘Mom’, no rape was shown. In fact, producer Boney Kapoor had removed all the graphic suggestions of sexual violation to make the product more palatable to a family audience.” The film has been passed with a U/A certification and is scheduled to release on September 22, 2017.

Sunny Leone to have a special dance number

Director Omung Kumar completed the shooting of his upcoming film 'Bhoomi' starring Sanjay Dutt, a few months back. However, the makers of the film were on a hunt for an actress to shoot a special song sequence. The search has finally ended with Sunny Leone coming on board. Talking about shooting for the song, Sunny Leone says, “I have been working on it with Omung (Kumar) sir and Ganesh sir. Rehearsals have already started. Ganesh sir who is a hard taskmaster has given me some really complicated steps. I’m trying my best to master them. The look, it’s very different from anything you’ve seen before. It’s a peppy track which youngsters will enjoy. I can see a lot of them copying the moves.” She also expressed her excitement to work with Sanjay Dutt.

Speaking about the song, director Omung said, “The song comes at a crucial juncture in the narrative and we wanted only Sunny for it.”

Producer Bhushan Kumar was all praises for Sunny saying, "When the song was ready, we felt Sunny was the right fit. We are glad she agreed to do this special track for us. Sachin Jigar staying true to the lyrics have made a really trippy number."
