Ranveer Singh sports a fake moustache in Bajirao Mastani? While we know that growing a moustache on a short notice is a big task, it comes as a surprise that Ranveer Singh, who sported an edgy moustache for his role in Bajirao Mastani, too, had to go through the same dilemma. Reportedly, for the initial days of shoot, he was sporting a fake moustache, reports Bollywoodlife.com. The report stated that when Ranveer was informed that his character had to sport a long moustache, the actor did not have the time to do so. Therefore, during the initial shooting days, Ranveer had used a stick on mooch and it was sticky situation for him. Quoting the actor, the report stated that it was very difficult for Ranveer to shoot with the stick-on mooch but the two-month delay that was caused by his shoulder injury gave him enough time to grow the real one. Ranveer feels it's a serious style statement and that it gives a guy an edge and attitude.

The song picks up its tempo to provide a backdrop to Bajirao as the Peshwa warrior comes of age. SRK on Dilwale-Bajirao Mastani clash: Both films will do very well

Speaking about the apparent clash of Dilwale with Bajirao Mastani, both of which release on December 18, Shah Rukh Khan reasons, "There is no denying that the audience will get divided and I don’t just believe in my film, I believe in each and everybody’s film. I think it’s kind of unfortunate, but, we make around 200 Hindi films in a year and there are only 52 Fridays. So four films will come on each Friday. Having said that, the time that we are coming in, there is a business angle that I have understood from my company. I think there is enough business for two films to do well on the same weekend. So Inshaallah, both films will do very well."

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan: Everyone knew I would be Mastani if there was a certain Bajirao

The cast of Bajirao Mastani has changed several times ever since the film was conceptualised. According to a report on Pinkvilla.com, Sanjay Leela Bhansali initially wanted to cast Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the title roles but he allegedly could not cast them together because of their reported break-up. It has also been stated that there were reports of Bhansali having cast Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor as the lead pair but the idea was scrapped when the pair signed another film together. Allegedly, SLB had shelved Bajirao Mastani at that point in time and went on to direct Black, Saawariya, Guzaarish, and Goliyon Ki Raasleela...Ram Leela. According to the report, Bhansali’s friends disclosed that Sanjay was disturbed as one of his dream projects had remained unfulfilled. When Aishwarya was asked to opine on this, the report has her stating that she shared a very close bond with Sanjay and that her relationships with certain filmmakers have been personally strong because it has never been only about the work. The report has Aishwarya further stating that before the start of the movie, there was a certain casting he was looking at and that everybody knew that she would be Mastani and that there was a certain Bajirao he was trying to cast and it didn't come to be. The report has her summing up saying that every film lives its own destiny and finds its reality the way it is meant to be.

Ranveer's injury: Ranveer Singh met with a shoulder injury on the sets of the film while shooting a sequence in Jaipur. He had to undergo a surgery and an unfortunate sabbatical due to the sling in his arm post the surgery. The actor was quite panicked at the idea of joining the shoot after such a prolonged ailment because the character itself was extremely demanding physically. A source close to the film had said, "While everyone has always seen Ranveer as this fun, energetic person who is always oozing confidence and full of life, the actor does have his moments where he is overwhelmed and nervous about giving a challenging performance. On his way to the sets, Ranveer was a bundle of nerves especially since he was returning to the sets post his shoulder injury. He immediately dialed his father for a pep-talk. His father completely reassured him that once he got to the sets and donned the costume, things would come back to him in a flash and ironically that was exactly what happened." Ranveer, when quizzed about it, added, "I was extremely nervous when I drove down to the shoot. I had not faced the camera in two-and-a-half months. As I always do in times like these, I called up my father. He assured me I'd be just fine. I heard him out, reached the set, put on my costume and I immediately felt like the great Maratha warrior Peshwa Bajirao. After that I went out there and nailed it."

Since her character is Maharashtrian, PeeCee will also be seen wearing nose rings and traditional Maharashtrian jewellery to go with the vibrant navvaris. The actress had been juggling the shoot of this film with her other international TV and film assignments. In an interview, the actress also explained how difficult it was to switch between Bajirao Mastani's Marathi accent and the other role where she spoke in American accent. "I was going schizophrenic because I was doing Marathi dialect training for my role as Kashibai in Bajirao Mastani and American dialect training simultaneously. I was losing my mind and forgot what I was supposed to sound like," said Priyanka.

Priyanka-Deepika's face-off: Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone will perform an ambitious lavni number in the period drama. Keen to recreate the magic similar to 'Dhola re' from Devdas, Sanjay Leela Bhansali reportedly took the help of choreographer Remo D'Souza. The song was shot over a period of 12 days, with over 50 background dancers on a larger-than-life set. The actresses had been rehearsing for over 10 days for the song, given its challenging choreography. "Though it is essentially a lavni number, it would not be wrong to call it a mix of folk and classical dance as well. It is never easy to work with SLB as he wants nothing short of perfection. Also, with the costumes, it is never easy to choreograph or perform for the actresses. This one has two actresses so it will require absolute perfection and synchronization," Remo had said.
