Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli's Mumbai reception: Celebs who attended the wedding bash

Joining the bandwagon of cricketers marrying the actresses, Virat Kohli got hitched to Anushka Sharma in a secret wedding in Tuscany, Italy on December 11, 2017. They also hosted a grand wedding reception in Mumbai on December 26 where who’s who of the glamour and sports world made their presence felt.
While wishes and blessings poured in for the newlyweds, Virat Kohli’s friend and colleague Yuvraj Singh took to Instagram to post a special message for the couple. Posting a picture of him with the two of them, Yuvi wrote, “Wishing both of you a partnership of lifetime! Lots of love �� �� cheeku and Rosie phabie ��❤️�� @virat.kohli @anushkasharma.”

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma tied the knot in a super secretive ceremony on December 11 in Tuscany, Italy, but they did not shy away from all the pomp and show as they hosted their second reception in Mumbai city. Making their presence felt at the do was a plethora of stars from the world of cricket and Bollywood.


What started off as a secret union went on to become one of the most talked about weddings in the country with the power couple playing host to everyone from PM Modi in Delhi, to Shah Rukh Khan, the Bachchan family, Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, heartthrobs Ranbir Kapoor and Varun Dhawan, to Bollywood beauties like Katrina Kaif and Kriti Sanon.
Here's a look at all those who made the Virushka reception a glittery affair.

Yet another power couple - Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan walked in hand in hand on the red carpet. Abhishek in a grey suit complimented Aishwarya who wore an off-white beautiful ensemble.
Right after son and daughter-in-law, Amitabh Bachchan walked in, with daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda. Shweta donned a light-hued pink saree while Amitabh looked handsome in a pink dotted indigo coloured bandhgala suit.

Sachin Tendulkar and his lovely wife Anjali looked like a million bucks as they stepped out together for Virat and Anushka's grand reception in Mumbai. But, it was daughter Sara Tendulkar who stole the show. The young lady stepped up her fashion game in a cream coloured dress. The trio posed together for pictures before heading in to enjoy themselves at the do.

If reports are to be believed, then Sachin was among the chosen few to be invited to the couple's wedding in Italy.

Music maestro A.R.Rahman arrived with wife Saira Banu in-tow. The pair looked elegant with the Music director in an all black suit and his wife in a floor-length beige coloured salwar kameez with sheer detailing. The couple, who were among the first few to arrive at the reception, was also among the first to share their picture with the newlyweds. Rahman took to his Instagram handle to share a selfie with Virat, Anushka and his wife and posted it with a warm greeting that read, "Shaadi Mubarak."

When King Khan walked in, he did not fail to impress. With the aura only he commands, Shah Rukh walked in solo looking dapper in a black suit. The star was his charming best posing for pictures with the lovely ladies he met along the way to the party. The actor was seen singing and dancing along with Virat and Anushka at the reception and even took to his Twitter handle to wish them on the happy occasion.

He posted a winsome picture with the couple that he captioned, "My love and most happiness to @AnushkaSharma @imVkohli so happy to see them married."

Indian Skipper M.S. Dhoni made heads turn when he made his appearance with daughter Ziva and wife Sakshi. The cricketer was spotted briskly making his way into the venue with Ziva in his arms. The little girl seemed visibly excited to be at the party as she was photographed waving to the cameras as she went by. Dhoni is also known to share a close bond with Virat and is often seen spending time with baby Ziva during their play dates off the field.

Bollywood's eternal beauty Rekha made heads turn and commanded everyone's attention when she stepped into the grand Virushka wedding reception. Dressed in her trademark Golden saree with shades of pink, the beauty made the shutterbugs click happy. However, the defining moment of the night was when the actress was joined by Kangana Ranaut and Madhuri Dixit Nene for a photo call.
The National award-winning actress stood out in her off-white silk saree, a full sleeve blouse and a choker, without forgetting her side bun, adorned with white roses.

Meanwhile, dancing diva Madhuri who waltzed in dressed in a bottle green and gold heavy saree.

Katrina Kaif walked in with sister Isabel Kaif for Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli's highly publicised reception in Mumbai.

The beauty who is working with the new bride in the upcoming Aanand L Rai film opposite Shah Rukh Khan made it a point to be by her friend's side on this special day. Kat chose a silver shimmery crop top that she paired with a skirt that flattered her enviable mid-riff. Sister Isobel on the other hand also stepped up her style game in a Manish Malhotra ensemble with an intricately detailed embellished crop top and an asymmetrical pink skirt.

The brother-sister duo Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan looked their elegant best at Virat and Anushka's wedding reception. The star-kids rubbed shoulders with the Bollywood bigwigs as they teamed up for pictures. While Sara looked elegant in a green lehenga, Ibrahim opted for a well-fitted black bandhgala.

The two were clicked posing with Karan Johar for pictures before heading in for the party.

Anushka Sharma's 'Dil Dhadakne Do' co-star Priyanka Chopra came in with mother Madhu Chopra and brother Siddharth Chopra. PeeCee looked ethereal in a golden saree and green blouse. She styled her look with a golden neckpiece, wine shade lipstick and a round bindi. Priyanka certainly pulled the look off with utmost grace and elegance. The actress was all smiles as she posed for the shutterbugs.

Filmmaker Boney Kapoor and his beautiful wife Sridevi looked picture perfect as they walked into the venue. While Boney chose an all-black suit, Sridevi was seen in a royal blue and black saree. The happy couple were all smiles as they posed for pictures. Visibly absent from the bash was the couple's darling daughters- Janhvi and Khushi.

On the work front, Janhvi will soon be seen in Karan Johar's 'Dhadak' with Sridevi reportedly said to make a cameo in the film.

Virat's newly-wedded teammate Zaheer Khan also attended the do with wife Sagarika Ghatge. The couple looked radiant as they opted for an ethnic look for the bash.

The couple were almost joined at the hip as they ferried their way through the venue. Zaheer and Sagarika only recently returned from their exotic honeymoon abroad.
