Amitabh Bachchan: Inspirational quotes by the actor

With a career spanning almost five decades, Amitabh Bachchan has seen the film industry and the world change along with it. The septuagenarian has made many interesting observations over the years. One of the country’s biggest superstars, the actor has imparted a ton of wisdom for everyone. Here’s looking at a few inspirational quotes by Amitabh Bachchan.

2/11

Talk about being humble

Amitabh Bachchan is undoubtedly one of the most revered stars in Bollywood. With his career spanning decades, he is truly the megastar of the Hindi film industry. However, Big B is known for his humble and down-to-earth attitude.

On the similar lines, the actor had once said, “I don't know how others think about me, but if I have to walk the streets, I will, and if I need to stand in a queue at the airport, that's OK.”

The actor also says that he likes to do his own works. “I write my own blog every day. I do the Twitter every day and the Facebook. Without a gap. I do everything myself: I load my own photographs; I sometimes take my own videos and post them,” he added.

This, coming from a celebrated celebrity like him is quite rare!

The write way!

Apart from being a thorough gentleman, ace actor and a wonderful host, Amitabh Bachchan is also a prolific writer when it comes to his tweets and blogs. Like his father late Sri Harivansh Rai Bachchan, the megastar also has inclination towards writing.

However, the actor believes that no matter how good his writings are, he cannot ever pen a book or write a script. He said, “I am not in the least eloquent or fluent with languages. My writing on social media is quite pedestrian. But even if it was near any acceptability, I would not be in a position to pen a script or a book.”

No politics for Mr Bachchan

While there have been many examples of actors making their foray into politics and doing a decent job there, for some it was just not their cup of tea. And one of the latter is Amitabh Bachchan. Given his popularity as an actor, there was much hype when the megastar decided to try his hand in politics.

Taking a break from his acting career in 1984, he entered politics and even won. However, his stint in politics was short-lived as the actor reportedly resigned after three years. Speaking about the same, he had said, “I ended up in Parliament and soon discovered that emotion really doesn't have any place in politics. It's a much more intricate and complicated game, and I just didn't know how to play it. I've accepted that I was a failure in politics. I was not qualified for the job.”

The spirit that goes on

For an actor like Amitabh Bachchan for whom age is just a number, there is no stopping to how much one can work or achieve. Speaking about his never-dying-spirit and will to work, Amitabh had said, “want to perform and be tested; I want the vibrant energy of the younger generation of directors and actors to rub off on me. Life is a blur when one is essaying different roles; it is so fulfilling. I want to keep working. I shall continue to do my best. I get up in the morning, have a job to do, go there, come home, be with the family, that's it.”

He also added that as an actor he can never be satisfied. “I think no actor should be ever satisfied because there is always something new to do, something fresh to get challenged by. I think every actor would wish there is some challenge that is left. I would consider to be creatively dead if I were to say that I am satisfied now,” he averred.

6/11

When insecurities grip Amitabh Bachchan

He might be one of the biggest and most revered stars of Bollywood and perhaps that is the reason he understands that fame in the world of showbiz is temporary and that it can be taken away any time.

Speaking about having such insecurities, Amitabh had said, “I am insecure about tomorrow. Will I get another job? Will it be appreciated? I will pursue acting for as long as I have a face and body that is acceptable to the people, but I still worry that if I don't do better tomorrow, it will all go away.”

He also added, “It's frightening to be facing an audience. There is always the fear of what they think of you, what they are saying about you.”

7/11

Challenge the changes

As the popular adage goes, “Change is the only constant”, Amitabh Bachchan also believes in change is the nature of life and that it should not be challenged. Here’s what he said about changes and challenges, “Change is the nature of life but challenge is the future of life. So challenge the changes. Never change the challenges.”
8/11

Hunger and jitters are essential for creativity

He may have acted in numerous films, but Amitabh Bachchan confessed that he likes to feel the butterflies in his stomach when he works. He said, “I like to feel the butterflies in the stomach, I like to go home and have a restless night and wonder how I'm going to be able to accomplish this feat, get jittery. That hunger and those butterflies in the stomach are very essential for all creative people.”
9/11

When he batted for gender equality

In a tweet that the superstar posted on the microblogging site earlier this year, the veteran actor was seen holding a placard that reads, "When I die, the assets that i shall leave behind shall be shared equally between my daughter and my son! #GenderEquality #WeAreEqual." He caption the image, " #WeAreEqual .. and #genderequality ... the picture says it all!!."
10/11

Bad luck either destroys you or makes you

Through his extensive career, Amitabh Bachchan has faced many ups and downs. He has been hit by disappointments and personal controversies, but he has let little affect him. Here’s what he said about bad luck and its effects, “bad luck either destroys you or makes you the man or woman you really are.”
11/11

On age just being a number

The veteran actor has been commended for not slowing down with age. Amitabh Bachchan is busy with his multiple commitments to films, TV shows, and numerous public appearances. When he was questioned about if he has any apprehensions on his age and if he thinks he should slow down, he said, “Basically I am just another actor who loves his work and this thing about age only exists in the media.”
