Actors who remain exclusive in Bollywood

At a time when celebs are shooting back to back for their various Bollywood films, there are some who remain exclusive and believe in the formula less is more. Celebrities often have long working hours due to several commitments that they take on all together. Some believe in juggling multiple movies at one time while others believe in focusing on one film a year. Be it Aamir Khan or Vidya Balan, we take a look at B-town celebs who remain exclusive when it comes to the movies and mostly focus on doing one film a year.

Actors who remain exclusive in Bollywood

Aamir Khan- He's Mr. Perfectionist who has never followed the norms. As one of the top leading actors in the country today, Aamir has always given preference to quality over quantity. Last seen in the YRF's block buster Dhoom 3, Aamir had only only release as an actor that year. This year, Aamir gears up for Raj Kumari Hirani's PK for which he has learnt Bhojpuri too. This methodical actor, will once again have only one release this year, apart from hosting the third season of his TV show Satyamev Jayate. Aamir doesn't seem to believe he's in a rat race and also refrains from attending award functions. The actor, producer, director and playback singer has had solo releases as an actor in the past few years too: Taare Zameen Par (2007), Ghajini (2008), 3 Idiots (2009), Dhobi Ghat (2011), Talaash: The Answer Lies Within (2012), Dhoom 3 (2013) and now PK (2014). In spite of not being seen too often on the silver screen, most of Aamir's films have been blockbusters and have created, if not broken, many box office records.

Katrina Kaif- Katrina is all set to sizzle in Bang Bang that is slated for a 2nd October 2014 release. Going by the trailer, Katrina seems to have worked very hard on her body and dance and is looking like a million bucks. She is one of the few Bollywood actresses who remains exclusive in her choice of films. Katrina too has not been seen much on the silver screen of late. Her last release was opposite Aamir Khan in YRF's Dhoom 3 where she looked drop dead gorgeous and charmed one and all. That was her only release that year. In 2014 too, Kats has Bang Bang opposite Hrithik Roshan, making it her solo release for this year. We are seeing lesser of this gorgeous actress who at one point in time had multiples releases in a single year. Katrina is sorely being missed on the silver screen.

Hrithik Roshan- The promos of Bang Bang look sensational! Hrithik Roshan is literally back with a bang in this Siddharth Anand film. Said to be a remake of the Hollywood flick Knight and Day starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz, Hrithik has gone all out to kill it in this film, from his looks, physique to the high octane actions sequences. Bang Bang is being welcomed with a lot of enthusiasm and curiosity and rightly so since Hrithik's last outing at the box office was Krrish 3, a super duper hit. Hrithik too is being missed on the silver screen, considering he too believes in the less is more formula where his work is concerned. In 2013, he starred in his father's production Krrish 3 where he played a super hero. In 2012, he won accolades for the blockbuster Agneepath, a remake of the original by the same name. In 2011, he starred alongside Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol in Zoya Akhtar's Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. In 2010, he did Kites and Guzaarish and both bombed at the box office. But Hrithik seems to have chosen this route of late. Whatever the reason behind him remaining exclusive, he makes it worth the wait for his fans and audiences.

Vidya Balan- This Indian beauty has created a niche for herself in B-town. With powerful women centric films, Vidya Balan is second to none and has proved that she can carry an entire film on her shoulders. Having won back to back awards including a National Film Award, Vidya's one of the best actresses today. Vidya who made her debut with Parineeta wowed all and since then, there's no stopping her. In 2009, she did Paa, in 2010, she only did Ishqiya and in 2012, she did the critically acclaimed film Kahaani, apart from a cameo in Ferrari Ki Sawaari. Ghanchakkar was her solo release in 2013 barring her cameos in Bombay Talkies, Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara! and Mahabharat. Vidya certainly believes in quality and most of her films have proved that right.

Shahid Kapoor- Shahid made his Bollywood debut with Ishq Vishq in 2003 which went on to become a hit but he's not had much luck in B-town, in spite of being one of the best actors around in the Hindi film industry. His talent is par excellence and Shahid deserves much more credit than he gets. Post Kaminey, Shahid's films like Chance Pe Dance, Mausam, Teri Meri Kahaani and Phata Poster Nikla Hero did not work at the box office and the actor seemed relieved with the success of R...Rajkumar. In an interview to India Today, Shahid was quoted saying, "R..Rajkumar's success has given me a huge relief. I was very excited with the response. I had never done a massy film where the audiences clap and whistle over your dialogues. I am very happy at the moment." Shahid can also be considered as an exclusive actor in Bollywood. While he had two releases in 2013, he will have only one in 2014: Vishal Bhardwaj's Haider which releases on the same day as Bang Bang. In 2012, he did Teri Meri Kahaani (2012), in 2011 he did Mausam (2011). There was a time when Shahid was doing multiple films at one time and these did not do well at the box office. Maybe that's why he chose to be more selective in the future. In Haider's trailer, Shahid has wowed all with his killer looks and his crazy and mad acting. This one looks to be a good film!

Ranbir Kapoor- This Kapoor scion has been unconventional from the time he made his Bollywood debut with Saawariya in 2007. He did what no newcomer would dare to do in their first film: he stripped for the camera in SLB's film with nothing but a semi transparent towel around his waist. Kudos to him for his selection of films and his intense portrayals, be it films like Barfi! or Rajneeti. In 2012, he did Barfi! and in 2011, he played Jordan in Imtiaz Ali's Rockstar. Ranbir has been an inspiration for actors his age who have often praised him saying that he has led the way for their generation. In 2014, Ranbir's not had a single release except for a cameo he made in Bhoothnath Returns. But that shouldn't worry the actor's fans as he has four releases lined up in 2015, which include Roy, Bombay Velvet, Jagga Jasoos and Tamasha.
