Immaculate planning went into the grand wedding of
Yuvraj Singh and
Hazel Keech. Initially, they had decided to tie the knot in Udaipur, but later shifted the venue to Chandigarh, at the behest of Yuvi's guru.
The two got married in a traditional Sikh ceremony in a gurudwara today. While the ceremony was initially slated to begin at noon, there was a slight delay in plans, owing to the groom's turban.
A source revealed, 'Shaadis are chaotic and this one had its own set of last-minute hassles. The turban, which was initially given to Yuvi, didn't match his outfit and so it caused the delay. The ceremony started much later, around 3.30 pm. The Anand Karaj ceremony comprised four pheras. The couple then did griha pravesh in their new house in Chandigarh.
Those awaiting the presence of the Indian cricket team at the wedding were a tad disappointed as they left for Mumbai before that. However, the England team is said to have stayed back for Yuvi's big day.
Both Yuvi and Hazel matched their attire. While the groom wore a maroon sherwani and turban, the bride opted for a gold and red salwar kameez for the pheras. She later switched to a maroon lehenga. The lunch menu included dishes like gol gappe, cakes, spring roll, paneer, dal makhani, mixed vegetables, fried rice and sooji ka halwa etc. The newly-weds will host an after-party in their new house soon.
