Will Arshad Warsi's heroine, Pakistani actress Sara Loren, be able to promote ‘Fraud Saiyaan’ in India?
Following the 2016 Uri attack, when Pakistani terrorists attacked an Indian Army brigade headquarters in Jammu and Kashmir, artistes from across the border were banned from working in India. Actors like Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan were not allowed to promote their films — ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ and ‘Raees’, respectively — in the country. Among the Pak artistes, who were given a 48-hour ultimatum to leave India was actress Sara Loren, who was in India to fulfil her professional commitments.

Since then, Sara has tried many times to revisit India, but in vain. However, the actress, who is featuring opposite Arshad Warsi in the upcoming film, ‘Fraud Saiyaan’, is hopeful that she will be able to promote the film in India, along with her colleagues. (The shoot of ‘Fraud Saiyaan’ was completed before the ban on Pak artistes.)
Talking to a daily, Sara said that she wants to join her team members in India. The actress also said that she is hopeful about being granted a visa before the film releases.
The producer, Prakash Jha, told the newspaper that it’s sad to see “such a talented actor being denied the right to promote her film”.
A source close to the production told the publication that the actress’ dual citizenship allows her the right to apply for a visa from Dubai. However, the sources added that her Sara’s stint in Pakistan was proving to be a hindrance.
