When Janhvi Kapoor revealed Sridevi wanted to choose her husband and didn't trust her judgment when it came to men

Janhvi Kapoor, who began making waves in the industry even before her debut movie ‘Dhadak’ was released, has carved a niche for herself in the film industry. The actress has never shied away from talking in interviews about her bond with her late mother and legendary actress Sridevi.


During an old interview with Brides Today in 2019, Janhvi opened up about her dream wedding and her relationship with her mother. When she was asked if she ever had any discussion about her wedding with her mother. To which, she replied, "Yes, and she would say that she doesn’t trust my judgement in guys, that she will choose someone for me. Because I love very easily."


Janhvi also disclosed that she has a long list of preferences for her future partner. She shared, "He should be really talented and passionate about what he does. I need to be excited and learn something from him. A sense of humour is really important as well. And, of course, he has to be obsessed with me!"


In the same interview, Janhvi revealed the finer details of her dream wedding and how she would like to get married. She stated, "I want something that’s real and intimate and close to who I am. I don’t need anything big and fancy," the actor said. "I already know my wedding is going to be really traditional and will happen in Tirupati. I’m going to wear a Kanjeevaram zari sari and there’s going to be a full daawat after the wedding with all the South Indian food that I love... idli, sambhar, curd rice, and kheer."


Janhvi Kapoor is currently dating her childhood sweetheart Shikhar Pahariya. The couple is no longer keeping their relationship a secret and has been making headlines often for their public appearances at high-profile events, temple visits and vacations.


However, there was a time when Janhvi made a surprising confession about her romantic life. She kind of made her relationship official during her appearance on Karan Johar’s talk show ‘Koffee With Karan Season 8’, where she unintentionally brought up his name during a rapid-fire segment. She was also seen wearing a necklace with the word ‘Shikhu’ on it during the premiere of ‘Maidaan’ premiere, which further confirmed their relationship.


On the work front, Janhvi is busy with the promotions of her highly anticipated film ‘Devara: Part 1’ where she stars alongside Jr NTR and Saif Ali Khan. Directed by Koratala Siva, the movie is set to hit the big screens on September 27. She also has the romantic comedy ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ in her pipeline.
