Varun Dhawan starrer 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ rescheduled to avoid a clash with Yash led ‘Toxic’
In a strategic move to ensure a smooth box-office run, the makers of the Varun Dhawan starrer 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai' have officially rescheduled their theatrical release to June 12, 2026. Originally slated for June 5, the David Dhawan directorial has been pushed by one week to avoid a high-stakes clash with Yash’s much-anticipated pan-India film, 'Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups,' which arrives on June 4.
“We strongly believe that it is always healthier for the industry when filmmakers support one another rather than compete unnecessarily on the same date. In that spirit of solidarity, we have decided to move the release of ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ to 12th June and bring our film to the audiences a week later,” they wrote further, speaking about the importance of cooperation in the industry.
'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ release timeline
The team had initially planned for an April 10, 2026, release. Later in October 2025, the makers shifted it to June 5. Now the team has decided to release it one week later, on June 12. The team moved the date to avoid a box-office clash with ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups’, which is scheduled to release on June 4.Makers explain the decision
On Tuesday, the makers shared a note on their social media page and explained the reason for the change. They wrote, “We would like to clarify that our film ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ was originally scheduled for release on 5th June, a date we had announced several months ago. However, after recent developments and considering the prevailing situation, we felt it would be more appropriate to shift our release.”“We strongly believe that it is always healthier for the industry when filmmakers support one another rather than compete unnecessarily on the same date.
