He was playfully holding the grab handles and vertical poles that are meant for passenger support. The video spread very fast on social media. Many people started talking about celebrity behaviour in public places.Soon after the video went viral Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Ltd reacted to it. The post from the Metro authorities created more debate online. People began wondering if Varun would face any fine or legal trouble.

Metro Authority’s warning post

MMMOCL shared a post from its official X handle. The post warned that such actions inside the metro could be punishable. It mentioned the Metro Railways (Operations and Maintenance) Act, 2002. The law talks about nuisance and possible damage to public property.

Varun Dhawan’s team clears the air

Now Varun Dhawan’s team has released an official statement to clear the confusion. They clearly said that no fine or legal action has been taken against the actor.The statement read, “We would like to address the recent reports regarding Varun Dhawan and the Mumbai Metro. We wish to clarify that no fine or penalty of any kind has been issued to Varun. The earlier post by the authorities has been taken down, and we appreciate their cooperation in clearing up this misunderstanding.”The team also spoke about Varun’s respect for public rules. They added, “Varun has the utmost respect for the city's rules and the Metro department’s efforts. We are happy to confirm that there are no pending issues, and we thank the media for sharing this accurate update”.

While this issue has now been cleared, Varun Dhawan continues to stay busy with his work. He is currently seen in Border 2.
